Really happy Canada went for it. There was a time when it was Gold or bust and would have mailed in a Bronze medal game.

Celebrini is already an amazing player.

Dvorsky cemented his status as a top 6 player in this draft. Also answered any questions about his hands/playmaking that I think only a couple of individuals on this board had. He was pretty exhausted at the end there, that’s where Slovakias lack of depth really showed. A fresh Dvorsky would have probably won that game in OT.

I moved Matthew Wood up. Still not a fan of his skating but I think he is at least solid in every other offensive capacity. For all the fuss about Dvorsky (who had a great tourney), I still prefer Wood's upside and tools.

Moved Cristall down a touch. Great upside and it came through at times, but his game needs enough refinement where I am not quite as convinced as I was a few months ago.

Cam Allen............does anyone still have him in the first round? I won't even bother ranking him. Take him with a flyer later on, but he strikes me as massive risk, okay reward. Price continues to appear like a worthwhile project by comparison, and Gibson showed me enough to consider ranking him. Will have to think about that one. Dragecevic.........you're a forward dude.

Barlow is exactly who I thought he was. Good 20s pick for a team that has a core in place.

It’s fine to like a player and all. But, there is no such absolute past the top 4. The exhausted thing is just a hypothetical. Hypotheticals don’t cement anything.

7 games don’t cement anything.

I’d be pretty surprised if he isn’t a top 6 pick, or let’s say top 6 forward since a D can sneak in there for need. I think by the time the draft rolls around this will be viewed as “consensus”. Consensus takes time to adjust but I think it will happen as anyone with eyeballs who watched that tourney should see.

Anyone with eyeballs could see Mathew Wood as a better player.

Thats already a better way to frame it.

I like him as well. But, eyeball owners also watched Leonard and Smith dominate. They say Matthew Wood show impressive offensive creativity (way more than Dvorsky btw, that’s not very arguable). Eyeball owners also watch all other games prospects play and watch many prospects who did not play in that tournament (Reinbacher, Benson, Yager, et al.)

Anyways, scouts do indeed have eyeballs.
