Brodeur was definitely not the GOAT, in my opinion. He was blessed to have the best defensive teams in NHL history in front of him. He was a great goalie, but Hasek, Roy, and probably a couple of others were better.

Only Quick, Vanbiesbrouck, and Barasso , have more career wins, and all 3 are not even in Helle's league. Helle is within 7 wins of Craig Anderson, a good goalie, but not even comparable to Helle.

Even if Hellebuyck got injured, and was out for the season, he would still win the Vezina. 39-9-3, 0.927%, 1.97 GAA, 6 shutouts. He is far ahead of everyone. He will likely beat his record of 44 wins, but I can't see him breaking Brodeur's 48 win record. He would need 10 wins in the last 15 games, and chances are they give Comrie 2 or 3 starts.

As it stands today Helle is on his way to a 3rd Vezina and personally that's great for him but I'm sure he has his eyes on a bigger prize

I think they gotta start giving comrie more starts at this point. Like 5-6 of the final 15. 10 point lead in standings is a nice cushion and Comrie has been real good. Individual records are irrelevant.

I would like to see Helle break that record. But if we have the Central locked up early, we will likely give Comrie a couple of extra starts in the last week or so. We need Helle sharp but rested for playoffs. Playoff success is more important than a record.

The crazy thing is that the SO stat could very easily be in the double digits, too.

There's been the odd cheap goal late in games where it looked like he was cruising to an easy SO.

The big difference this year from others is we aren't needing Helly to stop 40 shots a game to win. We aren't giving up alot of shots and we are scoring goals. What a season so far.
