The bats are not a problem. Even if Belt continues to suck he can be replaced by Barger or someone else in AAA.

Pearson for Richards and that strengthens the pen. It's still a solid bullpen.

Berrios is still a big concern.

Kiermaier ties the game: 6-6
Kiermaier gives you 2 insurance runs: 10-6.
Kiermaier gives you the go ahead: 11-10.
Kiermaier scores what is the game winning run on the Springer single: 12-10

Jays win: 12-11.

I wonder if he gave back Kirk's arm scouting report thing when he signed.

It’s gotten to the point where Tiedemann is probably a clear upgrade on Berrios/Kikuchi.

I understand there are risks of hampering his development if you call him up too early, and there are contract control issues as well, but they need to go all-in.

Pearson is still having some control issues. A couple of days ago he walked two and threw two wild pitches. If he can get better command than he will be an upgrade but the Jays probably want to see better consistency.

That's true. He had a solid outing today. I don't mind if they give him more time in the minors to work on his consistency issues but they need a better reliever than Richards.

Manoah was clearly one of the 5 best starters in spring training in 2021 and sitting on him in AAA for 2 months while Roark etc. blew games cost them the playoffs.

If Tiedemann is good enough, put him in there.

With his injury, he’s probably a month behind schedule. I would think June at the earliest. That’s assuming he doesn’t struggle or gets injured.

Crime Dog with be throwing out the 1st pitch tomorrow.

That's neat to see.

McGriff is an oddly forgotten/ignored Blue Jay legend who ended up being caught between the Bell/Barfield/Moseby/Fernandez teams and the WS teams, especially when the deal that moved him brought back Alomar and Carter.

But he's a a BHOF player who had his three highest career WAR seasons as a Blue Jay and has nearly double the WAR as a Jay that he had anywhere else (19.4 in Toronto vs. 11.1 in Atlanta). He should really be a much higher profile member of the Blue Jays family than he's been.

Wonder if he is going in as a Jay. Thought he was a slam dunk Brave going in with the WS and most games played in Atlanta than any other franchise.

But he almost doubled his WAR with the Jays vs Atlanta. Didn’t realize McGriff was so good with us.

Jays: 19.4 WAR in 578 games
Braves: 11.1 WAR in 636 games
Tampa: 9.0 WAR in 577 games

Could combine Tampa and Atlanta WAR and it barely outdoes the Jays. 20.1 vs 19.4

But too bad he didn’t have a better career with the Rays. He is from Tampa Bay. I’m sure he would prefer to go in as a Ray being the first Ray ever in the Hall and born in Tampa
