I saw numerous stories on Carmelo retiring. Honestly I didn't know he had played this season
He didn't play this season. He just hadn't officially retired. Carmelo Anthony is a cautionary tale for someone like Tatum. Had all the talent in the world, but prioritized all the wrong things throughout his career and never won squat despite all that talent

What're the odds this Celtics team becomes the first ever NBA team to come back from 0-3 deficit?

:sarcasm:
There's a better chance of the Bruins being reinstated to the Stanley Cup playoffs

At least Carmelo led Syracuse to the only national title in school history

I feel like Melo had bad luck as much as he "couldnt win" in the NBA. He was stuck in a loaded Western Conference with Kobe, Dirk and the Duncan/Ginobili/Parker Spurs.

One of the biggest reasons Carmelo never won anything in the nba and barely won playoff series in his career was Carmelo himself. Guy was a bucket but how many teammates did he make better? He also wanted to be traded to the Knicks midseason because he would get more money than if he signed in free agency but the Knicks had to trade valuable depth to get him. Carmelo, Amar'e, Gallinari, Felton, Chandler, Mozgov plus any ring chasing vets they would have signed with that roster would have been a nice rotation in 2011 that was a championship contender. Instead it was Melo, Amar'e and a 34 year old Chauncey Billups with bench players

Carmelo forced his way off a pretty good Denver team. But because he insisted on going to New York a year before he became a free agent specifically so he could get a max deal from the Knicks, he ended up playing for a team that traded a ton of assets to give him. That left him shorthanded in New York.

No one to blame but himself for the situation he ended up in.

They’re so much more talented than the Heat it’s probably one of the best chances an NBA team has ever had to come back from down 3-0.

I’d like to see them at least force game 6 because it would be an interesting story and at least show they’re not complete bitches.

With that being said, Heat 109 Celtics 93 tonight.

Sorry, but I'd rather not take away focus from the Bruins regular season record parade.
I'm not sure about you, but I've been celebrating that President's Trophy win for months now.

This team's core is pretty rotten, we can all see it. But I really feel bad for a guy like Al Horford who isn't going to have many more chances to win a title and who is one of the few guys who gives his all every night.
He already announced he's retiring at the end of the season, no?

He has announced his retirement. Maybe things change. He does take a big paycut if he were to return

Celtics will win in a dominant fashion tonight, giving a glimpse of what could have been, and then get absolutely demolished in the next game.
