He has probably only watched clips or something if that. For those that have watched multiple Reinbacher showings the kid is a great passer and playmaker
He move the puck effectively to evade pressure in tight space or to start the breakout (which is great and I guess could translate) but I didn’t see him generate much offense from is passing, all is offense seem to come from shooting or skating to the outside. He is a great passer but not sure if I call him a great playmaker not a creative one anyway since those pass don’t create advantages, it is all him shooting and people banging away at rebound or him making a pass to someone who make something happen.

Whether Michkov falls to us at 5th could come down to whether San Jose passes on him.
Does anyone know where they're going as an organization? Are they looking to blow it up or try to retool and be competitive with Karlsson?

It can’t be ignored that Benson is injured indefinitely. His play style and size combo could be a recipe for injury proneness. I do love the player but taking him this early does scare me a tad.

Right.......... absolutely.

It could also be a non-factor too, and we could be kicking ourselves for not taking him because of this idea..

Jiricek or Reinbacher and why?
Jiricek for sure. I did have some issues with him as well, but he’s a cut above. Reinbacher is the best for a pretty awful D class. Jiricek was arguably the top guy in what was a way better class.

No doubt. Easy to envision a world where we passed on him and he’s the guy we’re envious of as the guy we took instead struggles lol

Benson has the highest upside IMO. I can easily envisage a situation where he is 100pt player but I can’t say that about any other forward in the 5-7 range.

After watching Drouin, Galchenyuk, Kotkaniemi all flake out I can't deal with the headache of another player like that so im hoping we go with Benson. The injuries are scary but I don't like to bet against a combination of high intensity, high intelligence, high skill. He's not even that small he could be around Crosby size and he even kinda plays like a Kirkland version of him.

Dont look now but KK finished his season with 18 goals and 44 points as a defensive 2C, not exactly flaking out.

one line of production per pick he went in the draft. Should we reconsider Trevor Timmins legacy?
Yes, his legacy isn't as bad as people made it out to be and was clearly influenced by Bergevins 10 years.

Price, Caufield, PK, Pac, McDo, Guhle, Sergachev, Gallagher, Kotkaniemi, Romanov, Lekhonen, Latendresse, Emelin, Grabovski, Streit, AK, SK, RHP, Lapierre, Evans Halak, Ylonen, Struble, Roy, Farrel, Kidney, Mailloux...

I'd trust that a lot more than the guys Bobrov brought in.

Is it TT fault or it is Bergevin? Caufield almost busted under Ducharme. Pretty sure Bergevin would have not fire him and hire MSL like our GM.

Trevor Timmins also drafted well under Bob Gainey.

I believe the main problem has the development of the player under Bergevin. It has the main issue. Every single first round pick busting with him as GM.

You know they say that all teams are created equal, but you look at us and you look at Anaheim and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another team, you got a 50/50 chance of drafting Bedard. But we're genetic freaks and we're not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at drafting Bedard. Then you add Chicago, Columbus and San Jose to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 5 way at the 2023 NHL Draft lottery, you got a 20 chance of winning, but we, we got a 80 chance of winning, because Chicago, Columbus and Chicago KNOW they can't beat us and they're not even gonna try!
So Anaheim, you take your 20 chance, minus our 25% chance and you got an -5 chance of winning at the 2023 NHL Draft lottery. But then you take our 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 80 per cents, we got 155 chance of winning at the 2023 NHL Draft lottery. See Ducks, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at the 2023 NHL Draft lottery.

I can't wait for May 8!!!!!

Who would you pick? (if we don't win the lottery for Bedard or Fantilli or Leo Carlsson... ; Michkov could be a great pick but also a very complicated one...and one that involves a lot of waiting..maybe?).

Reinbacher (videos of him are pretty impressive, imo)
Smith (any comparisons to any current or ex-NHLers?)
Benson (another Zach Parise??).
Dvorsky (Slafkovsky-Dvorsky-Mesar)
Leonard? (any comparisons with NHLers?)
Yager?
Moore?

Tough one, but maybe I'd go for Reinbacher (or Smith...or Benson!). Dvorsky...maybe? Or...maybe the Habs make a deal with Winnipeg for P-L Dubois?? (or this is with the Florida pick?).

It seemed to just be a full games worth of shifts stitched together. Maybe he purposely chose an awful game, not sure. The U18 will hopefully shed a lot more light because it can be hard to decipher the real value of some USNDTP guys with the variance in the quality of teams they play against. Does anyone know how to find their player stats against just NCAA teams?

Note that they mostly don’t play against big NCAA teams.

20 games

Smith 14 goals - 23 assists - 37 points

Perreault 19 goals - 17 assists - 36 points

Leonard 13 goals - 17 assists - 30 points

Moore (18 games) 11 goals - 15 assists - 26 points
