Honestly thats the kind of defining roster building that could change things and allow the Habs to necessarily not have that top 15 offensive forward and still be very successful, just like Nashville a few years back.
Same, thats why I have Reinbacher ahead of bothI don't actually see why Benson and Smith are definitely for sure more valuable players than Reinbacher going forward.
Montreal could go Reinbacher/Benson/Leonard at 6, Honzek/Simashev/Wood/Musty at 20, Hrabal/Haltunnen/Strbak/Stramel at 37If they pick Benson and Leonard over Reinbacher, I won't be complaining. But I really don't think it's complete BS either.
However I don't hate the (old) concept of building a team from the net out. I think the defense and transition play if they key to success in todays NHL. Of course, you need talented forwards, but the defenseman will make them look better or worse and dictate the possession more then forwards in my opinion.
All in all, just take BPA, even if that means picking a LHD (hopefully not hapenning with the ones available this year).
Reinbacher toolbox is on another level![]()
I mean a big RD that can eat you 23 min + playing solid minutes defensively while moving the puck really well is extremely valuable to a team and it really hard to find. It’s more valuable then an offensive Dmen or a top 6 winger in my bookReinbacher is good. If he was a great playmaker I’d like him more, but just don’t see big time offensive upside with him.

The funny thing is, Reinbacher is a great playmaker from the back end. He's just looking for any excuse that this kid is a worse prospect than MaillouxI mean a big RD that can eat you 23 min + playing solid minutes defensively while moving the puck really well is extremely valuable to a team and it really hard to find. I like Reinbacher and we picking later he’d be a nice target. But he isn’t Seider who ironically I had higher than anyone here and even mocked him to Detroit at 6 when no one had top ten.I mean a big RD that can eat you 23 min + playing solid minutes defensively while moving the puck really well is extremely valuable to a team and it really hard to find. I ll take Benson all day long. Think Doug GilmourIts all suggestive and we could debate very long on the matter, but when I watch a kid like Benson who is 5'9 about 160 lbs battling for pucks and then watch Smith, one is playing like he was 6 + ft tall while the other battles like he was 5'6. I will let you guess who is who... I could say the same about a kid like Brindley or even Moore, all are smaller than Smith and yet play much bigger.
Seider was projected to go to Detroit, Edmonton, and Vancouver in the top 10 of his draftI like Reinbacher and we picking later he’d be a nice target. But he isn’t Seider who ironically I had higher than anyone here and even mocked him to Detroit at 6 when no one had top ten.
Ya I’m not saying he doesn’t have the attribute, I’m just saying he isn’t a guy with high playmaking ability that is required for defenseman to rack up points. That's one of his better attributes though? He sees passing lanes very well.
Yea, from the net out was so a good idea and gave us so much success when we tried it with Price. Lol.If they pick Benson and Leonard over Reinbacher, I won't be complaining. But I really don't think it's complete BS either.

I mean we where a top 5 team between 2013-2016 without any top forward except Pacioretty (you don't build an offence around Pac though)Yea, from the net out was so a good idea and gave us so much success when we tried it with Price. Lol.
DGS and not watching prospects hes commenting onThat's one of his better attributes though? He sees passing lanes very well.
Yes, because they made a ton of mistakes in the process. Namely, not develop a single impact player from the 1st round picks after Subban/Pacioretty.Yea, from the net out was so a good idea and gave us so much success when we tried it with Price. Lol.
Caroline is building all out offence. They have freaking Frederic Andersen in net.Yes, because they made a ton of mistakes in the process. Namely, not develop a single impact player from the 1st round picks after Subban/Pacioretty.
It seems to have worked all right for Tampa and Carolina.
Look at there defenceCaroline is building all out offence. They have freaking Frederic Andersen in net.

Carolina has good defense, Anderson stats are better there then when he was in Toronto.Caroline is building all out offence. They have freaking Frederic Andersen in net.
He has probably only watched clips or something if that. For those that have watched multiple Reinbacher showings the kid is a great passer and playmakerI disagree.

2009 was Josi's post draft season. Reinbacher just had the most productive NLA draft season ever.
