Base case scenario for the 2023 draft with current picks is #1 and #11 overall we’re close!

I simmed it and we got #1 and #12.

I'll take it.

It will probably end up being #2 or #3 and #22 but whatever.

I think it's very unlikely LAK and WAS finish with worse records than AZ. And where's MTL on this list, and BUF? What are these guys smoking?

It is done purely off existing season records. Washington and LA are 0-2 to start the season, hence why they are in the running at the moment. Same for MTL. They are 1-0, so they aren't close to the bottom as of right now.

It is a real-time percentage of being the worst of the worst. Each night it gets updated, strictly statistically.

Ah, OK. Thanks.

Wait until they beat the Hawks tomorrow night and you'll feel better about their chances to finish above the Hawks in the standings.

Coming off a game yesterday in a back to back? If they beat us tomorrow I'll be shocked... and I'll definitely say we are that bad LOL.

As of this morning...

1.San Jose
2.Vancouver
3.Minnesota
4.Arizona
5.Tampa Bay
6.Anaheim
7.CHICAGO
8.Seattle
9.Columbus
10.Washington
11.Nashville
12.New Jersey
13.Ottawa
14.NY Islanders
15.Montreal
16.Toronto

Tampa Bay’s conditional 2023 1st would slide to an unprotected 2015 1st as of today...

If the Hawks miss out on the top three, who do you want them to take?

If the top 3 is Bedard, Michkov and Fantilli then my pick as of right now is Yager... 100% (and I like him more than Fantilli personally). Carlsson certainly is very intriguing though... sooo many good top prospects in this coming draft.

Praying this team picks top 3.

Under Richardson though, I'm worried this squad might grit its way to a better finish than a basement dweller. San Jose looks BAD. Arizona looks BAD. Torts won't allow Philly to bottom out. Marty St. Louis won't allow the Canadiens to bottom out.

Ya, it seems like Yager is the favorite outside of those three. How do you think he compares to Shane Wright, same type of prospect?

Hawks would currently be picking 1, 37(TB), 39, 71 and 92(Dal) in first three rounds...

I've got to think Vancouver, Minnesota and Tampa Bay will not be in those positions when the season ends but San Jose and Arizona finishing with worse records than the Hawks is certainly probable and I wouldn't count out Montreal from being in the running for worse record either.

I believe Yager would've gone #1/2 last year, just based on what I've seen from comparables in junior. Less holes in his game overall than Wright. I mean, Wright slipped to 4 for a reason. Some of it positional need of clubs and others due to weaknesses in his game.

Tankathon has the Blackhawks selecting
Matthew Wood, w, UConn at 12 and Ryan Leonard, c, USDP at 21

I’m okay with that, two more top forward prospects in the cupboard!
