I would have guessed 4 GIDP happened more.

It's almost unfathomable to me that 3 caught stealings has only happened 6 times, particularly given extra innings can stretch forever.

3 sac flies in a game also seems impossibly low. Crazy.

I vividly remember Tatis and the two slams. The thing about that that seems even more unlikely to be repeated is that both came off the same pitcher (Chan Ho Park). Can you imagine a pitcher giving up two grand slams in one inning to the same player? So amazing that actually happened.

I also remember Kerry Wood as one of the 20 strikeout games. I was sick and stayed home from classes, picked myself up some Wendy's and laid down to watch TV. Good old WGN, making Cubs fans out of all of us, had the game. I fell asleep for a bit in the middle of it and woke up to see the last two-plus innings. He had some filthy stuff, such a shame he couldn't stay healthy.

Three sac flies doesn’t seem low to me. In fact I’m curious when it even happened. For a couple years (I want to say mid 40s), you can get a sac fly even if it doesn’t bring in a run (for example, someone going from second to third instead of third to home). I’m guessing these all happened during that time.

Edit - just checked and they were all more recent than that. I’m pretty surprised.

As I quoted your post I see you inserted the thing I was going to link.

I don't know, it initially seemed really low to me because I was just thinking of how many times guys come up three times in a game with a guy on third, and while I have no way of knowing, I assume it would be pretty f***ing often. But then I remember of course, it's all going to have to occur with less than two outs, and then I realize it's a much smaller number. It still seems on the low side, given baseball has been played f***ing forever, but I guess it's not as low as I initially thought.

Just curious; how many of you would be interested in doing fantasy baseball this season? We got a fun hockey one going. If we got enough interested on here I’d be interested in joining a league

Obviously when DeGrom's healthy he's one of the best ever. He has the second highest ERA+ of any MLB starter all-time, slightly behind Kershaw. He seems to be injured often in recent years though, perhaps the win now Mets are better off w/o him.

Tim McCarver passed away. I remember as a kid watching him with Steve Zabriskie and Ralph Kiner on WWOR 9.

IDK I watched some stuff yesterday and it almost made me uncomfortable, with the clock there in the background, and the guys visibly rushing to get ready.
