OT: 2023 MLB Thread

Rumor has it that judges team are the ones who leaked the judge to sf rumors to get Hal to cave on the 9th year.

Machiavellian if true.
 
Judge will make 10X more in salary remaining a Yankee in endorsements alone.
By the end of this contract his net worth will be in the billions.
 
The only thing I agree with Francesa on is getting Judge isn’t enough. They have to add more. They have this special player who took less money to stay with them. They’ve gotten to the playoffs with him, but they need to finish the job.

I really don’t care about his contract on the backend. When you have a player like this you don’t let him leave.

Nimmo got 20.25M AAV and Judge got 40M AAV. If Nimmo did half of Judge, and was compensated half of what Judge got, is that not a fair deal?

Nimmo is a year younger with a year less on his deal. Seems like a good deal based on the deals that are getting handed out.

Mets payroll over 400M now with penalties. MLB gonna have to make a new tax level at this point just for Steve.

George Steinbrenner rolling in his grave that the Yankees aren't the alpha spender in NY now.
 
Even as a Yankee fan I can appreciate Steve Cohen going absolutely ballistic after losing DeGrom.

The Yankees are apparently working on something huge, and it better be worth it. This is a win now team. You also owe it to your Captain to put the pieces together to go win a World Series. Cashman never seems to put it all together unless ownership gives him a kick in the ass though.

Going to be pissed if it's Correa. Two of the three of your best prospects play SS. Makes no sense.

Rodon, Beni, and Senga I would have been happy with, but the latter is no longer possible.

Ohtani?
