It only took 17 polls to get the exact same teams into the playoffs as last season, with a healthier Vegas being the only exception. HF really doesn't believe that the teams who didn't make it made any significant improvements.

Anyway, went with Ottawa here. They should challenge based on their summer.

I love the fact that you guys are underrating the Isles. Their last season got destroyed by one of the worst schedules ever and Covid, seems like everyone has forgotten about that. New coach, yes. But Lambert has been learning from Trotz for a long time. It will be fun to follow all the threads on the main boards regarding the Isles being overachievers during this season.

I think unbiased people would take the Islanders over the Canucks but popularity reasons will mean the Canucks win.

If they can be similar when it comes to being defensively sound while also getting more offensive freedom under Lambert, Isles have as good a chance as any to make noise.

Even if they lose a little bit of the defense, Sorokin and Varlamov is an excellent tandem to have.

I'm very interested to see how Lambert does. Is he going to be David Quinn or is he going to be Jon Cooper? Somewhere in between? Time will tell.
