Good looking top 8

7. Emil Heineman, 40.7% (+6)

I think at this point all have a high probability of being NHLers. And we await more to see how good they will be at the NHL level. Though of course there will be busts.

Well when our #8 got NHL time last year I think we are in good shape to see atleast 5 of those make the show with some sort of “character” impact 🙈

I know it's because we graduated 7 guys last year but our pool is pretty weak considering we went into the off-season with two firsts and two seconds. There's really not a lot coming to push us forward offensively so we have to hope our current forwards progress.

It's pretty disappointing to see the progression of Tuch, Mysak, Mesar, and others.

Voted Kidney, he's more proven than Fowler and is one of the only prospects that has shown growth each year. New toys always do better in these polls though.

Offense is our weakest spot. But we did use a 1st and a 2nd on Newhook. And Roy has top 6 upside. So do Farrell and Heineman. Beck is a solid top 9. I also like RHP, who just graduated.

It will be interesting to see how much offense is in this group. I had been hoping to add Michkov and Dubois. So, yeah, now it's a different outlook.

I agree it does seem like there isn't a lot of high offensive potential in our pool. HuGo must see more untapped potential in the roster and graduated players than I do.

As for Kidney, I have concerns about his game translating at the NHL level. I can see him being effective on the PP, but I think he's going to need to get stronger and adapt his game quite a bit to contribute at the NHL level in any other situation.

Fowler had an awesome year in the USHL though.

G of the year, 1st all-star, PO MVP (with the Cup win) and going 4-0 in the WJAC.

It depends on how you look at it.

Guys like Xhekaj, caufield, Slafkovsky, Harris, guhle, Ylonen, dach, Newhook are all still too young for me to say they aren't prospects. Just because they are in the nhl, it doesn't mean to me that they have crossed over the prospect line. That's merely a function of circumstances, and opportunities available.

When you consider all those names, there's actually alot of guys in their early 20s that are on the same boat whether their names appear on this list or not.

Kapanen, Strubble, Kidney, Tuch, Trudeau, Davidson, Primeau, Norlinder....

all prospects that have done well to extremely well since being drafted. be it still in juniors or in the men's league they graduated to... all have legit shot at being NHL regulars, and all are quite fairly not in our top-10, despite 7 graduations.

Future is Bright 😎

Yes that's the next tier. It will be interesting to look back and see if any of them have NHL impacts. Simoneau's in that tier for me.

why was he available in the 3rd round?

6'2 and goalies are voodoo. We're also voting for #11, so if you expect blue chip prospects, I suggest EA games.

This year, goalies over 30 games with the best sv%
Ullmark 6th round
Gustavsson 2nd round
Sorokin 3rd round
Swayman 4th round
Hellebuyck 5th round
Oettinger 1st round
Samsonov 1st round
Georgiev Undrafted
Saros 4th round
Shesterkin 4th round

Next year, Fowler could be top5 or under 15 depending on his year in the NCAA.
