Why in the world would you give Grant three years of term? He is the definition of a replaceable bottom 6 guy. And he's 32. I'd rather let him go and give a younger guy a chance. Certainly wouldn't give him more than a one year deal.

Grant is one of the few that have earned his spot on this team, and we know what we get with him. Its fine to bring other younger guys in to challenge, but that's the unknown vs the known. I'd probably be OK with a year or two extension, but 3 is pushing it.

I wouldn't do this now unless we get some Hagel esque return just because the idea of doing this to a guy half way into a 3 year contract who's fit in well here just seems wrong, but Vatrano at 50% retained could be a great trade chip for us next year, hopefully a 1st +

Have to look at teams who would for sure want him.

Kings and redwings prob a top the list. Penguins, Canadians, sens prob also interested.


Would have to be a 1st + good forward prospect… red wings prob fit best for the type of deal I’d want …. Turcotte too risky at this point, love his game and think hed be a good hard working compliment winger but can’t stay healthy
