Gauthier lead the tournament in goals and helped Team Canada to a gold medal, making a real statement. He also put up 30 goals and 39 assists for 69 points in 66 games with the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Gauthier won the QMJHL’s Mike Bossy award as the league’s best pro prospect. He scored four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 11 playoff games. This off-season Gauthier was traded to the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
