If he was good enough for that cup winning Avs team, then he's good enough for us IMO. Only concern is that he makes 2mil through next season, but if that sharks are will to go 50% retention then I'm cool with it. He's not exactly the banger that people here want though. It never ends
We were talking Nico Sturm...
I'd be trying to get Nico to fill the void Nosek left, skillset wise. I'm not worried about him scoring 15-20g. Doesn't need to.
Sturm is GREAT in the dot, big, strong on his skates, smart, good character. Sounds like a Bruin to me. There's also the matter of guys coming here, and levelling up their play in our locker room...

Bruins include that 2025 1st in any deal it better be a hell of alot better then that.Regardless the cap is the hurdle anyhow ,so I feel pretty good about keeping that pick.I like Henrique, but a 34 year old rental feels like the last thing we should be spending first rounders on right now.
Yeah we have 3 needs, maybe 4 if you believe we need a top 6 winger. We can only solve 1 imho.
Sharks would be paid to retain for sure. They won't be a cap team for a while.
Are you willing to give up a 1st rounder for Sturm? Because that's the rumored price for Nic Dowd out of Washington and I'm looking at what they bring and their contract statuses and they are awfully similar. Low cap hits, both signed for next year. Defensive centers/face-off specialists. Dowd is several years older.
Ultimately I don't think Dowd gets a 1st rounder but I could see a 2nd rounder. I wouldn't give up a 2nd rounder for Nico Sturm.
Not a great example when it seemed like that deal came together on short notice. Not enough time for leaks.I like how everyone knew the Bruins were getting Orlov Bertuzxi & Hathaway
Donny needs to stop telling everyone what he’s doing
Guy can’t keep a secret
Some conditional options would be nice.I like how everyone knew the Bruins were getting Orlov Bertuzxi & Hathaway

Neither of them is a Bruin anymore and the assets are gone.
I get it though the media has to do job and I’d be hmmm ‘they could use a stud center and a LD)Not a great example when it seemed like that deal came together on short notice. Not enough time for leaks.
Though I agree the only leaks that seem to come out are things that fell through (or were made up)
Bruins do not have a 1st 2nd or 3rd rd pick next draft.I agree about your last part though. As a playoff team ( with a very late first round pick currently or future lottery protected pick) I have no problem dealing the first round pick for a proven player that can step in immediately and improve the team this year and beyond. It's when you are not a playoff team that you hold on to the picks.
I would still like to see them put together some sort of package for a true #1 center. Yes, you have to give to get so someone(s) are going to have to go. The Boston management will have to make a decision regarding Jake DeBrusk and Matt Grzelcyk at some point in the very near future. They can not let them walk and not get a return
I am sorry but if you think you will get a return For Matt Grzelcyk you are probably going to be disappointed . The most I think any fan should hope for is the cap space. I am pleased with DS but he has failed when it comes to this player. As a playoff team ( with a very late first round pick currently or future lottery protected pick) I have no problem dealing the first round pick for a proven player that can step in immediately and improve the team this year and beyond. I think it probably costs you Beecher plus. No point in keeping Johnny around if you are bringing in Sturm to play his role the next 2 years. Plus you need to pay more to get them to retain 50% for this year and next. Beecher and a 25 #2. Maybe Steen just because you need to open up a roster spot as well
We should probably be thankful for that.
Both Orlov and Bertuzzi bet on themselves and a rising cap and so far, both are losing their bets.
Orlov is on Carolina's 3rd pair averaging just 16 mins. a night.
Bertuzzi has just 6 goals and only 1 goal in his past 27 games.
Even Hathaway's production is down. He's got the exact same number of goals and assists in 50 games in Philly as he did in 25 games in Boston (4 g, 2 a). A minus 14 to boot.
Makes you wonder what exactly it was the Bruins traded for last spring.
Yeah, I realize that... I was just speaking in terms of position in standings in relation to draft picks. Poor wording clarification on my partBruins do not have a 1st 2nd or 3rd rd pick next draft.I agree about your last part though.
