This is a cursed award. Should’ve given it to bowness.

Well-deserved imo. Proud of Brunner though; we sold pretty damn at the TDL last year and I was near-certain we would miss the playoffs handily. Bad fan 😥

Brunette did well but I think with all of the negative press about Vancouver likely to miss the playoffs again helped Tocchet get more recognition when they won the division.

The award for highest achievement:expection ratio.

He did great. The reason the award is cursed is because these coaches can be a flash in the pan.

The biggest surprise of the Canucks this year was them going from one the worst defensive teams (for many years) to one of the best under Tocchet. No Canucks follower would've predicted it, most were just hoping they'd reach average. So this is very well deserved for Rick.

Think Brunette takes it alot of other years though, was really impressed with the job he did in Nashville.

You can tell he was a player in the way he coaches . Well deserved this year. He took a Canucks team that many have failed with and got them pretty damn deep. Shout out to the GM . Gave him the tools he needed.

He does admittedly seem quite bad at making strategic adjustments, especially on the fly, but he's quite good at establishing an effective system and motivating players to play consistently/accountably within it.
