Blackwood to the Canes for Badinka
Not sure what his value is, but if we're trading Blackwood to Carolina, Scott Morrow always stood out when I watched UMass last year.
With all due respect, y'all are insane. Blackwood is not getting a top-4 RHD prospect. We'd be lucky to get a 2nd round pick from a contender and are more likely to get a late 3rd rounder.

So we add a 3rd.
Insane?
IMO yes. I had a 1st round grade on Badinka (ranked him something in the early-20's) and I caught a game of Morrow's in the AHL recently and he was very impressive (in addition to the fact that I've always liked him). If I were Carolina, I would laugh you off the phone for proposing that.

But you're not. And he didn't go mid 20's.
I certainly am not suggesting Morrow

I still expect Colorado to be the obvious destination. Kochetkov was playing fine and hes just day to day.

As of right now, in points per game, the Avs would be out of the playoffs despite ranking 9th in goals scored per game. they are 30th in GAA and dead last by a country mile in save %. This is clearly a PO team, arguably a cup contender, that is being destroyed by horrific goaltending. Both Giogiev and Annunen have practically identically horrible numbers, and you do NOT want Kaapo Kakhonen to be your #1 goalie or Trent Minor.

The avs have got to be shopping hard right now for a short term solution until one of the THREE goalies they drafted, including nabokov, can come over and take a stab at it.

The only prospect in their system that I see as worth hunting is Calum Richie, but I dont think they would trade him for a rental unless the sharks threw in at least a 2nd rounder or a good prospect of our own. Blackwood for Ritchie straight up will be way too rich for COL.

That said, COL cant sit back.

Blackwood+Lund+3rd rounder for Ritchie and Gieorgiev (for cap purposes)??

Avs get their upgrade in net. they get a little draft capital which they definitely lack (Likely a pick in the 60's), and a respectable 2nd round pick forward prospect who a point per game in NCAA. Sharks get another higher end forward prospect in case Musty, Haltunnen, Cherny, Gush, Bordy, graf, and Bystedt fail to make the NHL leap.

Not sure this is possible, but I think it fills holes on both teams.

Chris Kreider is 33 yrs old. Contract is not bad at three more yrs including this year. He's currently injured and he has 9 G-0 A this year.

Despite all that, I still would like him if available.

Would solidify the Giants roster and add a Cy Young caliber player to combat the Dodgers great pitching staff.

I'm sure he has a clause of some sort and wouldn't waive to come here. He's also not a pure cap dump, so competitive teams would be more interested and could offer the Rangers more.

I would really rather do Mukhamadullin instead of Musty but yeah I have no idea if CBJ would have any interest in Mukhamadullin

Possibly.

Provorov is an UFA after the season if they don't deal him at the deadline. They have Mateychuk in the system but Mukh plays a closer game to Prov if they are looking to replace what he brings.

Not to mention, they would want a guy ready for NHL minutes.

I think between Chernyshov and whoever we pick in the draft this year, we’re okay with wingers. We can also sign guys like Musty. I’d really rather keep all of our D prospects, particularly Muhk who can still easily pan out to be a good 3-4.

Why do people want to trade Musty? Besides Hodge, I know why he wants to trade him.

In a redraft right now, where would Jiricek land? Where would Musty?

I'm guessing that Jiricek falls by a bit, and Musty rises a little. The trade should bridge the gap.

Personally, I think his development track has been compromised and he will never be the top-6 winger we want him to be. Some of it is his fault, some of it is not. Better to trade him while his value is high

Out of curiosity what about his development track has been compromised? I was under the impression he had an outstanding season last year.

This season has cooled people's jets on him somewhat and we have new toys we haven't picked apart like the carcass of Thursday's meal. Plus I think people generally feel that scoring wingers are easier to find than some of the other problems we'd like to solve.

Personally, I'd like to keep him as if he develops well, he fits a giant gaping head wound in our lineup as we need a scoring left winger very badly, but if we could address a different gaping head wound by moving him, I'm okay with that. Unlike some folks, I don't want to trade him just to trade him, but I recognize that like most prospects, he's not perfect.

Yea he did for sure, but then this season he forced to go back to the OHL, held out on his team for a trade that didn't manifest, and had to play on a team that wasn't aiding in his full-game development. Now he broke his hand and will miss the WJC (which he didnt make last year) and his injury will likely keep him out after the trade deadline, locking him onto said unhelpful team.

Plenty of kids put up insane numbers in the CHL and can't capture that in the NHL. Since putting up said insane numbers, seemingly everything has been working against him. Considering this season - a critical one for development - might end up being entirely lost, it's logical to think his development has been compromised.

Maybe i'm being alarmist but i'm not feeling confident about him at all
