Perreault with the primary assist. 6-1 BC.

I wonder if Jada is mad or happy about the Will Smith goal

Perreault with the primary assist. 6-1 BC.

Brody Lamb puts Minnesota up 1-0.

There’s like 5 different things Perrault did well here.

- Intercepts the pass in the D zone (he seems to be super heady in his own zone)
- Carries the puck well through the neutral zone and gives Smith a dice dish
- Pickpockets the RPI guy to get the puck back
- Loses the puck but kicks it back to his stick in one motion
- Wastes no time getting the back back to Smith in the slot

Unreal sequence of events. Don’t ever let him join the Rangers.

Hope Lamb stays in college and keeps developing. He has talent. A late round steal would be nice.

I really think Drury and this scouting staff are identifying better players. I actually like the future of the team. I know we get down on the big club, but there are some great players in the pipeline right now that play with skill and some piss and vinegar.

Just leave em alone and let them develop.

lamb is also seeing top 6 minutes after guys like cooley and knies turned pro...and because of that gets to play on a line with 2 1st round picks. so his opportunity has increased...

good to see. honestly really liked what i saw from the couple minn games i caught last year. he's a really smooth skater and looked poised with the puck. also true he was on a deep team last year so didn't get the minutes, but think it should be mentioned most of his points came late in the season, including the ncaa tourny. it's not insignificant that he progressed over the course of the year and was seeing increased minutes as they got into the most important games, would rather see his totals with that progression over doubling them with 75% coming in the first 20 games. his coach motzko was also highly complementary of his game / outlook moving forward late in the season. still a bit of a longshot, but definitely reasons for optimism.

Lamb’s main problem last year was strength. He grew defensively in more of a shit down role after being pegged as mainly an offensive talent coming in. I was expecting him to take a step this year as the talent was evident last year, it’s just the role he was used in didn’t allow for many points

I was going to type out something similar but then saw your post so I don't need to...but that play was REALLY REALLY good! The pickpocket down low then barely even taking a look he somehow quickly got it right on the tape to Smith in the slot. There is a reason why he got 132 points last year playing for the u18s, he is so damn smart and quick with the puck.

There are college hockey programs that are just always amongst the best and Minnesota U. is one of them. Traditionally it always gets 2,3, 4 of the best Minnesota born players year after year and Minnesota is arguably the best state for producing pro and NHL players. If Lamb had gone with another hockey program he probably would have gotten more and better ice time as a freshman and produced a lot more. Other top college programs Boston U., Boston College and Michigan U. Even in down years these are always very good teams.

I remember 20 years ago North Dakota was strong. Was that a one off or have they just declined as a program? I haven't heard of them in a while.

Same with Wisconsin (Palveski, Stepan, McDonagh, Heatley, Suter, K. Miller, Rafalski, Caulfield). Caulfield and Miller are the 2 most recent, but their team really went downhill the last bunch of years.

edit - Actually , i just saw they have 13 drafted NHLers on their current team, they must be doing something right.....so i guess i'm wrong

I don't know what that is, but it sounds bad.
