Is he still anything?
He's a 21-year old goalie, whose NHL rights only expire in 2025.
It'll be 2-3 years before we know what he can really do at a higher level.
Is he still anything?
The answer is definitively no. If the Rangers figure out a way to ruin this kid I will officially give up.Outside of Laf and Kakko who played in the NHL their first year after being drafted has there been a more optimistic forward that we drafted than Perreault? Maybe Kravtsov but I always felt like we were stretching to make the case for him. I think the most important part of any player's game is the brain. Now if you're super smart but lack talent otherwise that sucks but that's not the case with him. And his speed is overblown. What's stopping from being a star in a couple of years?

maybe there is some new school skating I don't know about but his skating looked terrible and choppy on that play. I'm sure Patrik Nemeth could catch him with that stride. He did not look like he is a bad skater on that play
And of course Leonard had to be drafted by a rival Capitals. He'll be a solid player in my opinion.I like Ryan Leonard's overall game a ton.
He's going to need to clean up a few things (he doesn't have the hands to do the things that Perrault and Smith can pull off and he needs to realize that) but everything else is really good. Almost like a hybrid Kreider/Callahan.
I still say Viktor Stalberg upside if he develops properly. Would that be a good comparison?Chmelar with an early goal.
Is Perreault really another playmaking winger, something Rangers have a lot of in the organization? I thought he had sniper potential with great hockey IQ that is good defensively
I just thought Perreault was more of a sniper. People thought Berard would stay more than 2 years in college. I can see Perrault being signed im 2 years if he has 2 really great years for Boston College.Perreault will play in college for 3 years anyway. By the time he turns pro, Panarin's contract expires.
I don't really recall how Stalberg played, but Chmelar moves well and has good hands for a big man. Not overly physical from the times I've watched him, but willing to battle on the boards.I still say Viktor Stalberg upside if he develops properly. Would that be a good comparison?
Hey had like 53 goals last year, but from watching him, I wouldn't call him a sniper. He knows where to be and can get looks at the net as a result. He's missed on some good chances. I'd say he's similar to Fox in that he can score when he wants to, but can also dish it.I just thought Perreault was more of a sniper. People thought Berard would stay more than 2 years in college. My mistakeHe did. Berard spent 3 full seasons playing NCAA hockey.
So did Kreider, by the way.
