Draft will be held Thursday May 19th 2022 , there hasn't been much talk about it so thought I would get the ball rolling. There used to be a couple websites that posted pre draft rankings but they seem to be no longer. Sounds like Gavin McKenna will be the #1 pick this year , he is leading the U18 CSSHL league in scoring and is only 15 years old. There was talk that he applied for exceptional status does anyone know if he was granted it ? It sounds like Cole Reschny will be the #2 pick , 92 pts in 25 games playing CSSHL U15 . Does anyone have projected rankings or other names for this years draft?

Bit of a down year for Saskatchewan compared to the last two drafts. The most likely candidates to be drafted in the first round would be three forwards (in no particular order): Corban Alman, Luke Moroz, and Lee Shurgot.

I've been searching for the top prospects and a bit of info on them, seems like it's getting harder and harder to find it.
I've heard of Cole Temple. But as a Bronco fan we love our Manitoba players.

Braden Cootes- Yale- Alberta
Bauer- First team all star- Won the tournament
Rocky Mountain- First team all star- led the tournament in scoring
John Reid- Won tournmant, Tournament MVP, top forward, and first team all star
League Playoffs- Had the most points per game of any player

Other than Mckenna who played U18 and Obobaifo who played in the states there hasn't been a better forward in western canada across tournaments and the league

Agreed.. you would think as time goes on, there would be more and more websites and info on top prospects but I am finding it's becoming tougher and tougher each year to find that info

Actually think it's a very strong year for Saskatchewan.

personally think it's a really weak year for sask as far as high end talent goes, at least compared to recent drafts but like the depth. Reschny+Hamilton are both high end but outside them wouldn't take a sask kid in the 1st. my top 10 sask kids playing in province is:
1- Luke Moroz, F Prairie Storm 2nd

2-Corban Almen, F Saskatoon Outlaws 2-3

3-Lee Shurgot, F Saskatoon Generals 2-3

4-Owen Nelson, F Prince Albert Pirates 2-3

5-Jaxon Kehrig, F North East Wolfpack 2-3

6-Kazden Mathies, F Martensville Marauders 2-3

7-Carter Cole, F North East Stars 3-4

8-Isaac Poll, D Prairie Storm 3-4

9-Leo Seitz, F Saskatoon Stallions 3-4

10-Preston Baerwald, F Saskatoon Bandits 3-4

Brady Holtvogt should be the top goalie picked in the 2-4 range

Yes but Reese Hamilton and Cole Reschny are both Sask kids so when you add them to the mix it's a good group. Berney Weston is a top end goalie too.
