I'm not gonna lie, I miss the steroids era. All the superstars preforming at the extremely high level.

I'll admit I did enjoy it, but feel for the guys who played it right, just not fair, but definitely was exciting.

Kikuchi coming in with bases loaded and 2 outs, this could be interesting

He got an out! New Bullpen Ace...

Buck seriously saying baseball isn't talented enough now compared to years ago?

Back in my day catchers were MEN and would make tags with 3 broken legs!

I love Buck but sometimes he has to remind us he's an old man.

The only thing I could think of is it's a short way of saying baseball is less marketable that before. Players are much more talented than they were but most of them are relative nobodies in the greater sports landscape.

Ken Griffey Jr was everywhere in the 90s. A guy like Mike Trout? Not so much.

Just looked up and that sky can't get much lower.

Didn't Angels lose their challenge on Vladdy being safe at 1st though...

I remember Whitey Ford once broke his leg in 8 places and dislocated both his shoulders and still threw a perfect game!

I think he was trying to maybe suggest the old "expansion has diluted rosters" chestnut, but that overlooks the fact that the game has still grown since Buck's day and we now have players coming from more Latin/South American countries, Canada, Japan, Korea and more. The only way talent has receded is that there are fewer African-Americans than there used to be as more of them funnel to basketball and football instead, but does that draw down the overall talent level of the league? I kinda doubt it. That deficiency will be offset by raising levels elsewhere. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be better for the game if it were addressed, but also doesn't mean the game's overall talent level suffers significantly for it.

Yankees got walked off by the terrible Oakland team. Tampa lost 2 in row in Boston. But only the Jays have issues. Yes, the Jays have been frustrating and inconsistent all season. But they are 11 games over .500. with a top offence, they will figure it out.
I've never understood this argument. As a Jays fan, I/we focus on the Jays' issues. I don't care about how the Yankees and Rays are doing save for in the standings. I'm certain their fans are complaining just the same about their deficiencies.

That being said I agree the Jays are okay. The situation could obviously worse. But the concerns are warranted as well.

Reactions: Orca Smash
Umps ruled this a Crew Chief review which doesn't require or cost the team wishing to challenge the call. You know, just to make things more confusing.

Yeah the ump said that, but after said Los Angeles retains their challenge... It didn't make sense.

I’m going to the game tomorrow and after this weekend I’m less than excited about it at this point

Frustrating. Not sure how bad these guys want “it”. The division is there for the taking too, but they have not taken advantage of the Yankees being so poor last month or 2.

I’m not longer a fan of Bichette. We need to cash in for a return this off season because i would not commit long term with $$$ on him. The sucks on defence, he has a weak arm for a short stop, he strikeouts too much, etc.

Cant stand the guy anymore
