He's too patient. Nobody on the team sees as many pitches in the zone and takes as many pitches in the zone as Cavan while also swinging as infrequently.

I don't think he'd get to .300 since he's not a dangerous enough hitter to force pitchers to "respect" him, but he could probably juice his average a few points if he was more aggressive. Thing is that would also curtail his walks and in the end his OBP would probably balance out.

He's the anti-Ben Revere.
He has such a smooth swing. Reminds me of Olerud. He also had such a smooth swing!

My apologies, I have seen that line of thinking too much for real this week and was gun shy.

It's also not a Brad Hand situation - his underlying numbers were ugly in Washington before the deal and it just spiraled. Bass meanwhile has both looked great and performed great and seems to have really discovered something in the slider.

I was really worried when the Jays couldn't take advantage of a wild and inefficient Sonny Gray tonight. Thought it was going to be one of those nights.

Thank f*** they destroyed that bullpen. Long overdue for some crooked numbers

Berrios revenge game tomorrow.

Guy throwing all kinds of off-speed stuff away : this team can't hit it.

Guys are throwing 95-97 fastballs : this team feasts.

Same story all year.

Teams wanting to beat the Jays in the playoffs should be loading up on Tommy Milones and not actual good pitchers.

Seattle immediately picks up the phone to see if Jamie Moyer wants to make a comeback at 59.
