randy johnson was the same. he got amped and rubbed the opposite team the wrong way all know its just such a joy to watch him go gibson/randy johnson
Nolan Ryan was the only pitcher I ever saw charge a batter. He said I'd have to be an idiot to wait on the mound and let him get the first punch in.

Yea that number seems excessive to me. That’s an average of two a year. I didn’t even remember another one.

I found this post on a forum from 20 years ago which gave a comprehensive list up to that point in time (2002)

A quick side-trip to Excel says:

1) at that time there were 223, which means there's only been 3 in the last 20 years

2) There were 4 between 1997 and 1999 (including 2 in 99), but then a gap dating back to 1991 before that.

3) 160 of them occurred prior to 1930, so only another 66 have happened in the last 90 years

4) another 50 happened between 1931 and 1979, which means there's only been about 16 or so in the last 40ish years

5) Brooklyn Dodgers OF Jimmy Sheckard had inside-the-park Grand Slams on consecutive days on September 23rd and 24th, 1901

6) Your all time ITPGS leader is Honus Wagner, who had 5 between July 28, 1898 and July 29, 1915 (but never more than one in a year)

7) 14 players had multiple ITPGS in their career. After Wagner's 5 was Tommy Leach with 4 (in 8 years), and Shoeless Joe Jackson with 3 (in 9 years). Then the other 11 guys had 2 apiece. This assumes that the 3 or so that aren't counted on this list weren't ever by the same player

8) The most prolific team for ITPGS is the Pittsburgh Pirates with 27. I was going to run down more but I think the team notations become somewhat awkward to track as it differentiates between things like the Brooklyn and LA dodgers, or the Yankees original tenure and their time after the Mets came into being. It might also be rolling multiple iterations of Washington team together based on them all simply being abbreviated "WAS". Basically sorting it out would require cross-checking and more work than just excel formulas.

And it took me a bout 2 innings to put all this together

Just in case you needed more ammunition for your opinion …

It’s gross that it was hidden and even though it’s obviously known now there’s still no punishment for anyone. Probably just gave the girl a very small amount of money to keep quiet

Really impressed how Manoah was able to pitch 6 innings because it felt like the Sox were fouling off every other pitch. Not his best stuff, but still solid.

With Devers joining Story and Sale on the IL and Martinez dealing with back issues, that team is gonna crater hard.

They'd be smart to sell their assets and rebuild.
