What's going on with Berrios?
A lot of it seems to be poor fastball command. Not getting ahead of hitters and bit locating at all and getting hit really hard. His changeup and slider play well off a good fastball but it has only been there a couple times this season.

Honestly hard to say who is wprse kikuchi or berrios. Both have negative war. But berrios makes 5 mil more. 51 million on 3 starters in ryu, berrios and kikuchi and each are negative value

Alright I'm one of Berrios' biggest champions, but I'm officially now concerned.

There's 6 years and 125 million left in that deal. It's not a case of "he'll figure it out" but rather "he needs to figure it out"

Miserable. Throws the curveball too much and it gets absolutely touched.

Small silver lining: it is legitimately nice to see Rowdy find a home in Milwaukee.

Management tied a lot into Berrios and Kikuchi and both have been horrendous this year.

At this stage, I almost have more confidence in Kikuchi figuring it out because at least his stuff misses bats.

The Kikuchi deal was dumb from the outset. No one is going to argue that. 3 years for a guy who had a grand total of a half season of good pitching is just..no, man

The Berrios deal I won't blame Shatkins for. The guy was one of the most consistently reliable starters in the majors before he signed that deal and was even good for the Jays last year. His dropoff was essentially out of nowhere.

I'm worried we might see a visit to dr.andrews soon. Berrios has been solid for so long that this is definitely out of character to be this bad.

At the very least it might be wise to give him a few weeks off to make some adjustments.

I think I'd have more confidence in Ricky Tiedemann right now than Kikuchi or Berrios

I had the same thought. People bagged on Ryu for his drop off but suddenly got real quiet once it came out he needed surgery.

Weirdly enough he had the same issues Berrios is having: drop in velo, loss of break and command in general

I am thinking this as well. He's been incredibly consistent throughout his career and he's been way off this year.

Expect to hear some fire Atkins chants after we get swept by Boston
I'd start with getting rid of Montoya and Walker first

When the Jays have to score 9 runs to win a road game they'll be hard pressed to grab a wild-card spot with the status quo coaching and managing

Let him pitch through it and he still can't make it through 3...and finishes his day by walking the 9 hitter.

Idk what to say besides...yikes.

Question: do you think we have underachieved so far? I think the hype was for this team to have more wins at this point. I sure thought we would have.
