Oh man, if he did that he should be named manager immediately.
I just watched the video of it, and I'm not entirely certain that he didn't. There didn't appear to be much that happened before they tossed him (even if he was complaining, he was doing so in a manner that no one outside of the umps would have known that he was).

Guillermo Martinez has been tossed while exchanging lineup cards.

IMO, there needs to be discipline for that umpire. There is literally nothing that you can say to an umpire who objectively blew 35% of his strike calls that isn't warranted.

I can't find video but Jerry Layne ejected someone at Ground Rules back in 2013

How do they even contemplate sending Moreno back down when Jansen is healthy?

And out goes Giolito.

What a response from the boys after last night's game. Don't need to worry about your bullpen if you score 7 in 3 innings.

Probably not a good sign when the change up is Giolito's best pitch and it's getting hammered every which way.

Another victim of the crackdown on gunk? He's primarily an offspeed guy (changeup/slider) with not nearly enough velo (fastball clocks in at 93) to make up for it if those pitches aren't on...which they haven't been all season.

Unfortunately for him, he's also probably going to eat it today given the state of the Sox pen after last night.

White Sox broadcast just pondered the question of who the greatest Blue Jay of all time is.

Their answer: Vernon Wells. Not the guy who pitched here for a decade and went into the hall of fame. Not the guy who hit a walk off home run in the world series. Not even the other hall of famer this team had. Not even Greg Zaun. Nope, Vernon Wells.

My coworker probably thinks I'm insane assuming he can hear me cackling from the front of the store.

Yikes. I know a lot of people disagree, but I wouldn't have Alomar in the conversation, mostly because they have guys who were just as good (or better) in there time in Toronto and were around a lot more than 5 years.

For me, it's Halladay and Stieb. For position players, it's Delgado, Bautista, and Fernandez in whatever order you prefer. Wells could maybe be in the next tier with Barfield and Moseby and Alomar and Donaldson and whoever, but he's not even in the conversation for "greatest".

I am absolutely ready to be @'d

1) Roy Halladay
2) Jose Bautista
3) Dave Stieb
4) Carlos Delgado
5) Roberto Alomar
6) Tony Fernandez
7) Jesse Barfield
8) Vernon Wells
9) Jimmy Key
10) Joe Carter

Next 5 (no order): Edwin, Clemens, Guzman, Moseby, Donaldson

e: I refuse to believe Alomar was a negative defensive player in Toronto.

It depends on how you define greatness.

Peak VDub was arguably the best CF in baseball.

If it is peak, it's Clemens by a landslide. Longevity is Halladay. Stieb is a candidate along with Fernandez.

Alomar is lower imo because of less years played, lower peak and how he left.

Olerud is a guy who should have real consideration as well.
