I just watched the video of it, and I'm not entirely certain that he didn't. There didn't appear to be much that happened before they tossed him (even if he was complaining, he was doing so in a manner that no one outside of the umps would have known that he was).Oh man, if he did that he should be named manager immediately.
Guillermo Martinez has been tossed while exchanging lineup cards.
IMO, there needs to be discipline for that umpire. There is literally nothing that you can say to an umpire who objectively blew 35% of his strike calls that isn't warranted.
Kirk is so f***ing good. I love that chubby boy.
White Sox broadcast just pondered the question of who the greatest Blue Jay of all time is.
Their answer: Vernon Wells. Not the guy who pitched here for a decade and went into the hall of fame. Not the guy who hit a walk off home run in the world series. Not even the other hall of famer this team had. Not even Greg Zaun. Nope, Vernon Wells.
My coworker probably thinks I'm insane assuming he can hear me cackling from the front of the store.
It depends on how you define greatness.Yikes. I know a lot of people disagree, but I wouldn't have Alomar in the conversation, mostly because they have guys who were just as good (or better) in there time in Toronto and were around a lot more than 5 years.
For me, it's Halladay and Stieb. For position players, it's Delgado, Bautista, and Fernandez in whatever order you prefer. Wells could maybe be in the next tier with Barfield and Moseby and Alomar and Donaldson and whoever, but he's not even in the conversation for "greatest".
