That Gurriel-Odor play is exhibit 1A for why players should sprint out of the box on every single ball in play. Gurriel makes it to 2nd easily if he isn't jogging the whole way to first.

I don't understand how this isn't an ingrained fundamental for every single MLB player. It's a sport where you only have to sprint maybe 2-3 times in 3 hours. There's no excuse to not give maximum effort at all times. But basically nobody does and every single player jogs out ground balls and lazy fly balls.
 
Jays management basically not even attempting to help the BP in the off season is costing them. Having a manager who doesn't like his starters go long in games doesn't help either
 
I just don't understand the fear of putting the tying run on. So what if he is the tying run? You go after the rookie and get him out then it doesn't matter.
