With Ryu out for the season we're gonna have to trade for another arm or two. Richards and Kikuchi are not it chief. Pearson can't get healthy fast enough.

With all the garbage TO media talking today about how bad the Orioles are! Well that bad Oriole team is beating us. Hopefully we can split the series or win 3/4

Moreno has everything but power. Caught up to that 99 mph heater no problem.

He has shown power though. Up until AAA he had an ISO over .200 more often than not and in most stops he only played <40 games at a level which will obviously suppress his homer/extra base hit #s. The one time in his climb that he logged significant time at a stop was 2019 in A-Ball and he put up 12 HR in 82 games.

I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect him to be a 15-20 HR guy when playing a full-season workload once he gets comfortable.

Hopefully he does bring that to the majors at some point. He would be like the perfect catcher.

I did just double-check and that A-ball year was Lansing which IIRC is known to be a bit of a launching pad. So a 24 HR per 162 extrapolation would probably be a bit much, and obviously the small sample sizes on the other stops mean the ISO is probably not fully stabilized yet, but I think there's definitely some cause for optimism.

Fangraphs' prospect ranking report for this season has him with 50 FV raw power and 45 FV game power (for comparison, Kirk had the same power grades on the 2021 list). I don't think he's a bomber, by any stretch, but he's a good contrast to the thunder that the team has and he should be able to clear the fences when he can ambush the pitcher. I think 15-20 is a nice # to dream on.
