Based on what? It's the 2nd worst season by batting average, but that's not accounting for the fact that league-wide average has dropped noticeably over the last 40 years.

by wRC+ (which is normalized for league-wide trends by year) this would only be the 17th worst out of 45 Jays sesaons.

Fingers crossed this is him rounding into form after the rocky start.

A top 3 of Berrios, Gausman, and Manoah can paper over a multitude of sins. Then you add Kikuchi looking better recently and maybe Ryu or someone else seizing that #5 spot and baby, you got a stew going.
