Kikuchi threw strike 3 on two Reds hitters in the first only to walk them and should have been ahead on the guy who doubled.

Good on them for getting on the ump.

So what is up with Biggio?

He came off the covid IL and they sent him to Buffalo to get his confidence back/sort himself out. Seems like he's doing alright (low K%, high BB%, middling average but strong OPS) They'll probably give him a good amount of run there until they feel like they need another infielder or Espinal cools off.

It's like he's never heard of anymore
I had high hopes

I don't need to get in the zone!!!!

He still could rebound. He was hurt most of last year and then had covid early this year.

He probably would've gotten more opportunities to stick with the Jays had Espinal not come out and started this season on fire.

the fact that he's doing well in Buffalo is a good sign (though I would like to see a higher average out)

It is astonishing how bad this whole team is with risp, it doesn't matter who is batting they can't come up with a clutch hit most of the time.

40 games in.
I’ve never seen such an impotent lineup for such an extended period.

They're in the middle of the pack across MLB in overall offensive production this season.

Just by the Jays' standards they would only be the 8th worst offence over the last 20 years, and that includes 2 other versions of the roster from the last 4 or 5 years placing worse than them.

Should they fire the hitting coach? I mean, obviously some adjustments have not been made. This shouldn't be good enough in a year where you expect to contend for the World Series.

I am honestly not worried. The bats will come alive at some point. And you would rather know that your starting pitching is absolutely elite since that's what truly wins you games in the Post season. Manoah AND Gaus having Cy Young years is massive and Manoah being so young and pitching like an ace is insane to think about.

Picked up Miles Mikolas in my fantasy league today as a free agent (somehow). Let’s hope today that bites me in the ass
