Amazing the difference actually trusting your 97mph fastball makes.

I also suspect the Jays, and probably the rest of baseball, is struggling so much because the pitchers finally remembered pitching low tends to be a good way to counter all or nothing hitters always looking to hit home runs. I haven't seen enough to suggest the ball isn't carrying. If what Garcia said is true, and the ball is so much smoother now, it would actually carry even more.

His delivery looks better.

Hopefully Merryweather can figure things out in Buffalo and Pearson is ready soon. Clearly need him as a pen arm.

Or need to make a few trades like last year with Cimber and Richards.

Espinal is terrible

Stripling is hortid

:whaaa?: Weird take.

Espinal's been one of the best players on the team all season. And Stripling's been overall pretty good this season too. He was coming in tonight in an unfamiliar role (lately) and after not having pitched recently. That's a recipe for a wonky outing.

Wow hot take, that was Espinal's first error on the season. He is a solid defender. Outside the last outing, Stripling has been fine.
I should have included

Tuttle was obviously joking

His delivery looks better.

Sure, apparently it's standard to "correct" a pitcher's delivery a bit, but turns out the main reason for his woes was he just wasn't using his best pitches. Apparently it's been a fight to convince him to throw his fastball:
