Weird that they took out Mayza. Charlie is overthinking it. Romano is gonna have a dead arm in a month at this rate.Romano doesn't have it tonight.
Can't say I blame him. Trotting a closer out this much and expecting him to close the door seems unsustainable
With the 8/9 hitters keeping them in it.It’s unbelievable that we won this game. Stripling/Thornton vs. Verlander AND we were down 3-0 early.

(Tapia with another run and 2/4 with a steal)With the 8/9 hitters keeping them in it.
Definitely the most unexpected win of the season so far. It was essentially Stripling/Thornton vs future HOFer Justin Verlander.excellent win in a game started by Verlander
Hopefully Manoah can go deep or we blow the Astros out to give Romano some rest.
Kudos to some unsung heroes in Stripling, Thornton, Mayza, Tapia, Espinal and Zimmer.
Well done!
It's been pitching and defense for the Jays so far that's been winning them games as their offence hasn't been great tbh. Very poor AVG with RISP, many hitters have not been playing to their abilities, and some injuries have happened too. Hopefully the Jays' offence can take some of the burden off the pitchingDefence was excellent.
Ryu has become like Dickey. Either 6 scoreless or shelled in 2 innings. Much better chance with Stripling who will give the Jays 5 innings with around 2-3 runs.I think he’ll be better than Ryu. Ryu I think is done, unfortunately. He’s just hit that age wall.
Jays were smart not to give him a long term deal and we got 1.5 good years out of him. Pretty good.
I’m not even sure he can give you the occasional 6 scoreless anymore.Ryu has become like Dickey. Either 6 scoreless or shelled in 2 innings. Much better chance with Stripling who will give the Jays 5 innings with around 2-3 runs.
