I thought chapman was a much better hitter than he i shown but ill take his defense. Any offense is a bonus.
He is a good hitter he just strikes out a lot. He can give you 30 HRs, 100 RBIs and .800 or higher OPS but you'll have to accept those high K's

With that said, no one is happier for this series to be over than Chapman, he's been cold as ice during these 4 games

I know injuries and slumps happen but man this lineup looks abysmal lol

They need all the pitching and defence they can get today with no Vlad, no Teo, no Collins, and no Jansen

Also is Ross Stripling a full time starter even if Ryu returns soon? He had two very quality starts and found a way to keep the Jays in a game vs Verlander where they won.

I know it's only 3 starts but he's looked a lot better than Ryu has in his 2.

They probably give Ryu another look but if he can't get it done... Stripling it will be....and possibly a deadline SP for depth..

Manoah is such a great pitcher already.

Power and control with good composure.

It will be hard for many teams to match us 1 thru 3 in the rotation.

Stripling was mostly quietly effective as a starter the last couple of years. He had a run in the middle of last year where he started for the better part of June-August and made 13 starts for about 61 innings and had an ERA in the mid 3s and really had only 2 bad outings (one at the Trop where he gave up 4 runs in just under 4 innings and then the disaster start vs Boston where he coughed up 6 while only recording a single out.)

He might be the guy you piggyback with Pearson when Nate comes back. Because it seems like he can reliably go 3-5 innings but not longer. So you could have each of them log 3-4 innings before it turns over to the pen.
