Ultimately two vets are responsible for this mess. Bass and Romano. One of them was the main acquisition by Atkins at the deadline. Leading by 4 in the 8th inning with your two best relief pitchers (two vets) available and fresh you should no lose.

Not completely. Both Springer and Bo should have known better than to try and chase that ball down. Concede the run and make the safe play, get the next batter - that is the play. They completely butchered that and well among many other mistakes here we are.

Our whole OF needs an overhaul, we have awful range and give up extra hits because of it.
