I want maximum chaos: Angels. Can they possibly be a non-playoff team with 3 generational/MVP talents on the roster?

Naw, don't think the Angels will spend that much this time around.
San Francisco and Seattle DO have the ability to add Judge.
Isn't Judge from California? I'd think he'd want to go back to the west coast.

I could see the Giants giving Judge a lot of money. Or maybe the Angels so they can have Judge, Ohtani, and Trout (literally the three best players on Earth) and still finish below 500

Judge will go full Barry Bonds and be the new Giants slugger.
Speaking of which, does anyone remember when Barry Bonds hit 73 homers that year? Guy was on a mission to be the best.

Meh if Judge gets 62 I'm considering him the HR king. He did it without a balanced breakfast each morning while Bonds, Mac, and Sosa needed all the balanced breakfasts they could have to get above 61

And someone was saying the other day that he’s not as bad defensively as Jeter! 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂

by Fangraphs' defensive WAR component:

Bichette's worst figure is -3.4 for his first season. Career value of 1.3
Jeter had 7 seasons worse than that and was a -19.8 for his career.

By DRS:
Bichette is -17 for this season which is his worst, and is -10 for his career
Jeter doesn't have full career stats because DRS only started being tracked in 2002 so it misses about the first third of his career. But for the part that tracks he had 4 years worse than -17 and finished his career at -162 (he only ever had one positive season and one 0 season in the tracked span for his career)

by UZR/150:
Bichette has posted a -26.7 this season (significantly the worst for him) and is -8.8 for his career
Similar to DRS, it's only been tracked since 2002 but for just that 67% or so of Jeter's career that was tracked he had a -27.1 season and was -6.2 for his career. So by this measure Jeter is maybe marginally better though he also has the advantage of like 15 years of data instead of like 2 and a half for Jeter.

You laugh, but you laugh out of what is basically ignorance of the fact that Derek Jeter was a terrible fielder in spite of the treasured narrative that he was this calm, cool, defensive stalwart.

Bo has not been a good defensive infielder so far. But he's a) had his moments in a way that Jeter didn't for the most part and b) is young enough that he could, in theory, improve while Jeter never really did.

Barry Bonds knew why he did, he didn't need to but he wanted to shut up McGwire and Sosa since they were getting the attention that was getting away from Bonds.

During the 1998 season, Bonds became the the first player go to 400 home runs/400 steals and no one cared. They cared about the home run chase and that was really pissed him off.

Being a 3 time MVP, 8 time gold glove winner, 7 time silver slugger at that time by the end of the 1998 season....no one was giving him his flowers.

Then came the year 2000, which was a preview of what was coming for the next 4 years.

Lolz, Britton. You love to see it. I wonder if he still has flashbacks to being stapled to the O's bench when they pissed away that playoff game to the Jays.

Yes, but add a zero for the next one.

I think yesterday they said like $250k for this one and maybe 1.2-1.5m for #62.

At least the Jays went at him (in basically a forced situation, tie game, 1 on no outs) and didn't treat him as a guaranteed HR each AB tonight. You pick your spots in which to avoid him, you don't walk him four times and watch him come around to score multiple times. It's a poor strategy when trying to win a game and poor sportsmanship to boot.
