I know this is something that people never really pay attention to but the Umpire Crew for this series is about as inexperienced as you are going to get.. I'm an umpire so i'm usually pro-umpire but damn this is an inexperienced crew for a massively important series. If shit goes down it is really going to go down.... However I have said multiple times, the young umpires actually have the best strike zones.

Crew M
Chief: Alfonso Marquez - Third year as Crew Chief
#2: Ramon De Jesus - Full Time year 3, Normally the #4 on the crew
#3: Brennan Miller - Callup year 4
#4: Dan Merzel - Callup year 3

There will be a 5th umpire joining the crew for the double header, but still.

Like this is the crew that should be on the Pirates-Reds series.

Cash looks like a genius pulling criswell after getting kirk. Tampa annoys me so much. But have to applaud what they do with so little

weekly reminder that the Jays are tied for first in MLB in batting average and are 5th best in K%.
It’s still pretty much all or nothing. They have loads of trouble against good sinkers and change ups. Have trouble manufacturing runs in tight games against good teams.

The same type of lineup (but more explosive) with Bautista got them as far as the ALCS until they ran into a Rays/Indians/Royals type team that can exploit their aggressiveness.

It was not a homerun.

The hitting itself has been good this year, its been an issue with risp however and bringing them in, which is where alot of frustration comes in with the hitting I think. Seems like they have no problems getting people on, its actually pretty damn good, its leaving runners stranded and not scoring.

Harold Ramirez was a boring, uninspiring nothing OF in the Jays system. Then he spent 3 years being a sub-replacement level player in Miami and Cleveland.

Then Tampa gets a hold of him and *boom* he hits over .300 and is a useful MLBer.

Stupid Rays and their stupid voodoo dark arts player development.

Tapia on, time to try to play some small ball. If he could steal 2nd, and then we could move him to 3rd with even a ground ball or whatever....
