Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. They're quite different stylistically though. Kikuchi has a fairly narrow arsenal whereas Arihara is the kind of kitchen-sink-arsenal guy that you tend to see with Japanese pitchers.

A ball will be called if a pitcher goes over the time, and a strike will be given to the batter if he is found in violation of the pitch clock.

I doubt there is anyone left alive, but it would be interesting to know how basketball players felt when the NBA put in the shot clock. Kind of the same idea. Game is too slow and boring, need to speed it up.

Pitchers there will be a lot, especially closers, for when you get into the higher leverage situations....playoffs, 9th inning, 1 run game with runner on 3rd etc.
And then the pitchers who just like to be annoying... MadBum looking at you.

Did the Gamecast mix up the first two pitches to Semien?
Show that first pitch was a ball and was practically down the middle third of the plate and the second pitch bounced and was a called strike?

That was slightly different because the idea of the shot clock wasn't to speed up the pace of the game but to prevent stall tactics. The shot clock came about because teams would get a lead then just play keep-away for minutes at a time with no intent to score, content to run the clock down and grind out the victory without giving the opponent a chance to come back.
