It barely ever accomplishes anything, most players aren't good at it, and in most cases where people want to use it the value of the out given up is greater than moving a runner up 90 feet.

If you're playing for one run and only one run then maybe there's a case to go for the bunts and sac plays but for the most part it's not worth it. And for as much as the anti-bunting crowd are incredibly conservative with bunt usage, the pro-bunt crowd are so aggressive with it that it causes more harm than good.
