What happened to Heineman?
Have the game on in the background, just noticed Collins batting in the 5th? Charlie pinch hit him? Or another catcher go down?
Don't forget about all of that prospect capital sent away for that scrub, Matt ChapmanI know, I was only half serious. But they have to be much much better than this. Everyone knows that. Remember, this is a long season, it takes time for people to settle in.
It could be a conscious thing too... trading in some velocity to try to be a bit more precise with his location.Merryweather has been at 96-97 in all 3 appearances this year after being at 99-100 last year. Hopefully he just needs time after the short spring.
Exactly what I was thinking when he said that... Very profound.Pat things Chapman, a hard-thrower who racks up saves, has redefined the closer role.

30-35 bombs, .800 ops and good defence is what I’m expecting from Chapman this year. That would put him comfortably in the top 10 at 3B. Even a .750 ops would be fine with his defense but hopefully we get more.I keep telling myself that Chapman's role is infield defence, not hitting, but I'm not really seeing stellar defence either?
And from what I've seen of the new fourth outfielder I would rather have Randall Grichuk back.
Maybe these players will come around with time.
