I know nothing about him, but I want Grudinin when we draft next based on random scouting rankings.
CSKA system (Russian army), where Fedotov was recently impeded from moving to NHL and forced to enlist

What is the organizational need?

Goalies, centers, defensemen.

George was there and he was BPA. Brennan was there and was close to BPA as well. Even McConnell Barker was a close to BPA center, but I would have preferred George or Brennan.

Moldenhauer joins a group of probably 7 similar caliber wingers and he doesn't really stand out from the pack.

The Leafs have picked a center who may not even be able to stick at center and sucks at draws, and tops out as a high end defensive guy like Kampf even if he does stick, and a winger who is good, but also tops out as a mediocre middle 6 winger. There have been worse reaches, but Clark is not exactly doing a great job right now.

You expect a developed player in the 2nd round? Look at many centers, they have bad faceoff%, get much better. Especially our coaching staff who brought us to the best faceoff team in the league I am sure they can help him there.

Maybe trust one of the most well funded scouting departments on who fills a need for us.

I mean technically it was our first pick of the draft and we were told we were going to get someone of similar quality or even the same person we were going to get at 25. So I would hope they would be a little more developed yes

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm getting tired of us always taking the hockey sense guy with poor skating and saying our skating dept. will fix that. Show me the leaf prospect where that has happened? Ultimately, they will never make someone an absolute burner who is slow, and it seems we draft a ton of 'slow' players saying we will fix that. I have yet to see the evidence, and I think it's clear to see on our roster that there is very little homegrown talent as well as speed. Speed kills, and we don't draft it under Dubas. I'd love to be proven wrong, but...

I'd be surprised if we took a goalie but Dubas has drafted one in every draft. Correct?

Moldenhauer is a fantastic skater. Probably his best asset.

Grudinin or Fabian Wagner are who I want.

Wagner for his explosiveness.
And I don't see many holes in Grudinin's game think he could be a great dman.
