I don't really get the logic of trading up in the mid rounds. I could see trading up in the first or early 2nd rounds to get a faller you had ranked high, but idk.

Someone on your list you want but didnt expect to be there is on the table. Make the move

Barker seems like an obvious Dubas pick if he’s still on the board. Should get more icetime next season with overagers on the soo graduating

I bet da Habs took Beck just to p*ss us off .. everyone knew Leafs circled back to Beck a week ago .. I probably should not have said anything
No guarantee we would have taken him over Minten. Apparently, they had him ranked very highly…. whether I agree with it or not.

Tampa has one of the best scouting departments. I they always move to grab guys. Sometimes you just want to get your guy and not run the risk of losing him

I think there is some sense to it. Dubas understands that he has given away quite a few first-round draft picks over the years. He is recouping and drafting more players. It looks like he knows he needs to be really careful with these picks and hope they hit at least some.

I like this. I don't always agree with everything he does but I can't deny that these are sensical moves to make.

Based on what? They very well could have chosen the safe road here over a boom/bust type.
I don't think they would to be quite honest and the reason is that goes against dubas and co's MO. Lets see though, time will tell. Hopefully he turns out.

I'd really like Dumais. 5 foot 9 and 165 at 18, good chance in 5 years he is at least 5 foot 10 and 175-180 which is fine. His production is elite.
