Likely, I've seen him as high as 47 I think, it's a gamble.

Don't follow prospects that aren't in our system enough, so no opinion. Just can't seem to please the "we need size and physicality, we always draft small players" crown.
Totally, just a numbers game

Realistically I feel that someone had to have been taking him earlier

ex. the clip of Burke drafting Kadri where he's talking to Ottawa? and tells them "he's our guy, and we're going to take him with this pick"

If he can turn out to be a Anthony Cirelli type player you can’t get mad at the pick. If we miss on this and one of the handful of players we missed out on in exchange for dumping a shitty contract turns out to be a stud, Not a good look for dubas.

Everyone makes mistakes...if you are working either in retail, corporate job or w/e. However, Google doesn't educate nor teach us a lot of the factors a person who is extensively in the field. I used to be with a lot of players/scouts/ex etc...and everyone always has something new to learn and teach even those who have been there for decades lol.

There are plenty of people in the field who question this players upside.

One could certainly make the argument that selecting a player with bottom six upside in round 2 could also be something to learn from.

Or perhaps flipping assets for two bad contracts given up a mere 12 months ago, that could be another learning lesson.
