That's a difficult trade to consider, the shiny #7 pick would help us down the road, but we would be committing to starting Murray which is a pretty big red flag for me, and you can't just bury that 6 million dollars or use him as a backup that would be like 10 million in net we can't afford.

So what would be the move after? Buy him out? Or truly take the 7th and gamble on Murray in net?
Apparently Ottawa was willing to retain some of Murray’s salary in the deal that fell apart. If Ottawa was willing to retain at least 1.25 million in Murray to drop his cap hit down to 5 million and we got the 7th overall pick for the 25th pick… You do that. Hopefully at this stage in Fleury’s career he takes a bit of a discount to sign here and you run a Fleury - Murray tandem for the next two years.

No way this management team can reasonably gamble on Murray returning to his form from 5 years ago in such an important stage of the team’s development.

Once you are a Soo Greyhound, you are always a Greyhound...... And Greyhounds stick together...
I think......

It's only fair that Jack's replacement should be a Greyhound. Since your coach, GM and few other players already from Sooooooooooooooo

Not sure if it's been posted in any of the draft threads but I just heard about this. Lane Hutson showed up to the combine with a doctors note stating his bone age is not the same as his biological age and that he's not done growing. His brother grew to 5'11 between his 19th and 20th birthday. Might be true but I thought it was hilarious lol.

Lol if thats true (i doubt though), then i am all in drafting him at 25th

to drop down from 7 to 25 means they are more likely to retain less or any at all.

Dream list for today

- Muzzin dealt for a first round pick in the 10-20 range tonight
- Leafs move their first in a blockbuster package for an impact player
- With the other pick, take BPA or trade back for more tickets if no one stands out. Try and get a 2nd round pick trading from ~17th > late 20's or 13th > 20th OA

Exit the draft with a new prospect, an impact roster player, and more draft capital for tomorrow

My guess is we trade back for more picks if we don't trade the pick for a goalie upgrade or help on wing.
Russian picks are super scary this year
hope Owen Pickering falls to us

I have a felling we move the pick....Bryce McConnell-Barker is ranked 34th and can you guess his JR team? He is 6'1 and almost 200lbs so he may not fit our type of player lol
Knies is a shrimp right? Why are posters so generic and repetitive

Fluery is getting old and Murray is terrible, that 7th pick is very shiny and nice but if we are in win now I feel Campbell is better than an old Fleury and a shell of a goalie in Murray personally.

I think if we all come together and tweet Clifford to LA we can make something happen.

Lets get this trending ASAP.

Ottawa could be an offensive threat this year if they sign some of the people they've been linked too. I've seen Forsberg, Giroux and Kadri I believe.
That money likely just went to paying Debrincat. I can't see them spending much over the floor until the estate is settled and they are sold off.

Muzzin won’t return a mid round 1st unfortunately

What are people's thoughts on Rinzel? I haven't watched him but my buddy keeps raving about him. Looking for more opinions
