We should have traded up to grab a top 10 talent in yurov, not trade down again to clean another contract mistake. Im a dubas supporter but it's getting annoying.

25 to 38 is essentially equal to value of about a mid 2nd. So essentially they trade down to get a mid 2nd(value) and flip that pick to dump Mrazek

I'd take Howard, Lambert over just about anyone who will be available in the mid second round.

His f*** up is the reason this needs to transpire.

He’s traded a first and second to get rid of Ritichie and Mrazek. Let that sink in for a moment.

He traded down to get rid of Mrazek, context matters. The price is fine to do. Better to fix mistakes before it blows up.

Leafs have now 3.8M more cap space they didn't have and they still have for moving down.

Terrible talent evaluation by Dubas and the pro scouts. Same thing with Ritchie. Dubas' two prize offseason acquisitions were huge duds along with Foligno in the playoffs.

They need to update to their spreadsheet models. Whatever it is they're using currently sucks ass.
Eh, I disliked both moves but it seems unfair to grade Dubas solely on those while ignoring how well the Kampf, Kase and Bunting acquisitions turned out this year. Also adding Gio was a good move. Most of Dubas' additions have been decent the last two seasons.

I'm going to wait and see who's available before I get really mad about this.

If we manage to get Trikizov, Lambert, or Goyette I'm happy.

Seems Leafs hoped for a particular guy and when he was gone they probably have 5 more they figure they like ready at 38 ... so you get rid of 3.5 million or so for moving back. It's a good move considering. Bad signing but you can't win them all.

Is there really a major gap between picks 25 and 38? It’s a little salty since it’s just Dubas fixing his own mistake, but 3.8 in cap savings.

Hopefully adding 2 to that for Holl and sadly 3.5 for Kerfoot. Come on down, Ville Husso.
