Schenn's Leaf Prospect Rankings. Moldenhauer was added with 4 votes.

Here are the rules:

1. Each poll will be open for 24 hours.

2. As we never have a consensus way as to which players are still considered prospects, we'll be using my way of cutting off prospects. The player must be U24 and have less than 50 GP in the NHL. A Prospect MUST be connected to the Leafs, AHL contracts or PTO's don't count.

3. I will start the poll with 10 of the most consensus guys I've seen on the Marlies/Draft boards. I will list the players on the docket (and their most recent season stats) as well as guys that have the ability to be added. Vote on who to be added next or I'll choose myself.

4. When there is a tie, we will do a tie-breaker. The loser of the tie-breaker does not immediately go into the place below (eg: If we tie on prospect #13, the winner is 13 and the loser goes back onto the docket).

5. We will be going to 30 like we did last year.

If this level of voting keeps up, I'll probably throw up Poll #4 as well even though it's likely a formality as I expect Amirov to get 90%+ of the vote.

Might end up running off 3 polls today.

I must say this is one area were the team must be close to the bottom of the league in and that is prospect depth from #4 onward.

Completely disagree.

Prospect models love the depth of our pool because there's legitimately more potential NHLers than virtually any other pool in the league. Our top-end and goaltending is thin, but unlike most pools we have about 20 guys that have relatively high% chances of playing 100GP+ in the NHL based on what they've done so far in their career. They've drafted extremely well (value wise) so far, and the three consensus best prospects in the system (who should all be top-50 prospects in hockey) were drafted between 53rd and 64th.

I'm going to start 4 now. I assume it'll be a similar outcome and 5 is where it will get interesting.

The tier after Amirov is going to be interesting.
Hirvionen, Abruzzese, Minten, and Steeves could go in any order

Niemela should run away with this one.

I am pretty sure ready earlier in the summer that Holmberg could very well push for a roster spot this fall though, and he is a very intriguing prospect we should all keep our eyes on.

There's no guarantee that Amirov will recover from his brain tumor. For that reason I would exclude him from the list altogether.

Painful for management and fans when you look at how Seth Jones, Dawson Mercer and Braden Schneider have progressed.
Seth Jones? Also did you watch Schneider? He was horrendous and only played because the Rangers had no one else. He is far from a guarantee to become a good NHLer.

Anyways, Niemela and add Voit.

The Amirov, Abbruzzese and Steeves voters splitting their votes allowing Niemela to barely squeak this one out it seems.

Add Abramov
It doesn't seem very close.
Amirov shouldn't even be considered until he resumes his career.
