It would, but it also excludes all the NCAA prospects. Doing it before the rookie exhibition is just fine b/c it's based upon last year's work and not this new season. Plus, it's just for fun to help reduce the boredom of non-hockey days/summer.

Players who did help their stock are RD Luneau, LW Tracey, LW Regenda, LD Hinds, and LW McLaughlin.

It looks like our Russian Goalie is looking good in the minor system with 12 games under his belt. Aside from that, not much to go on.

How's everyone's list look now? lol

Honestly, I'm more confident in how I was voting then now then I was then. I think this was my list then:

1. C - Mason McTavish
2. D - Olen Zellweger
3. D - Pavel Mintyukov
4. G - Lukas Dostal
5. D - Urho Vaakanainen
6. RW - Jacob Perreault
7. C - Nathan Gaucher
8. D - Drew Helleson
9. D - Tristan Luneau
10. D - Noah Warren
11. D - Henry Thrun
12. RW - Sasha Pastujov
13. D - Jackson LaCombe
14. LW - Brayden Tracey
15. D - Simon Benoit
16. D - Ian Moore
17. G - Calle Clang
18. C - Benoit-Olivier Groulx
19. D - Tyson Hinds
20. D - Axel Andersson
21. LW - Sean Tschigerl
22. LW - Pavol Regenda
23. C - Josh Lopina
24. RW - Sam Colangelo
25. RW - Blake McLaughlin,

I'd obviously change it up now, but I had Luneau higher than most, which I feel more confident about now. The big mover would obviously be Regenda at this point, but someone I'd probably move up higher than I originally had was Tracey. I thought he was one of the more impressive prospects this summer.

1. McTavish (I have McTavish a hair over Minty and Zell, they are all pretty close IMO)
2. Mintyukov
3. Zellweger
4. Dostal
5. Gaucher (passed Perreault because I know he will be a NHL player, Perreault, Tracey and Pasta could all bust and I wouldn't be surprised. All upside players with risk)
6. Perreault (he needs to show me more this season or he's moving down)
6. Luneau (was a stud all rookie/training camp)
7. Thrun
8. Warren (upside but a lot to work on imo)
9. LaCombe
10. Tracey (he needs to show me more this season)
11. Pastujov (I need to see more "want" from him this year)
12. Regenda (hopefully a pleasant surprise moving forward)
13. Hinds
14. Helleson (I've now watched 6 full games of Helleson in AHL/NHL, haven't been impressed once but he's still young and adjusting)
15. Tschigerl (love this player's heart)
16. Clang
17. Colangelo
18. Groulx
19. Lopina
20. Moore/Hvidston

It sucks not having the NCAA defensemen here for the rookie and pre-season exhibitions because we can't really compare with the defensemen we do have showing up. LaCombe, Thrun, and Moore murky up the rankings with respect to Luneau, Hinds, and Warren.

With that said, damn, our 2023-24 defensemen class going to the pros is gonna be insane (provided LaCombe and Thrun sign; it looks very promising especially if we hold an extra year on Thrun).

LD/RD Zellweger (20 yrs old)
LD Hinds (20 yrs old)
LD Minty (19 yrs old... will be 20 in Nov)
LD/RD LaCombe (22 yrs old)
LD Thun (22 yrs old)

What a great variety we have in that group!
