Pronman still rated him top10
Yeah Tourigny is nowhere near the top 10, especially in THIS prospect pool. 35 may look low, but we do not to see how he would do against older, bigger and stronger opposition. Strength will always be a question mark with him, defensive play also.

Does anyone has some past article from Pronman that looks good with hindsight? I’m really curious/interested… with such bold takes, I would think that you either become a superstar or get buried real fast..

If only that pool could become half as good as the 2007 one!!

#1 - Carey Price (93.03% of the votes)
#2 - Andrei Kostitsyn (71.64%)
#3 - Ryan Mcdonagh (28.20%)
#4 - Kyle Chipchura (35.35%)
#5 - Jaroslav Halak (36.61%)
#6 - David Fisher (27.74%)
#7 - Sergei Kostitsyn (25.12%)
#8 - Mikhail Grabovski (39.57%)
#9 - Max Pacioretty (43.75%)
#10 - Ben Maxwell (28.72%)
#11 - Alexei Emelin (37.17%)
#12 - Pavel Valentenko (55.69% of the votes)
#13 - Maxim Lapierre (38.71%)
#14 - Ryan O'byrne (60.90%)
#15 - Matt D'Agostini (41.12%)
#16 - Ryan White (45.68%)
#17 - P.K. Subban (45.03%)
#18 - Mathieu Carle (74.81%)

That’s a LOT of nhl games. We can argue that this list produced 75% NHLers spreaded for
Top to bottom of the lineup.

People sure were low on Subban.

I wonder who the riser will be next year. I guarantee this list looks completely dissimilar in 2023, we tend to vote with recency bias quite often.

Maybe guys will graduate like Pezzetta?

Outside the top17 (Harris, Slaf, Norlinder, Barron, Ylonen, Guhle), the guys that could pull a Pezzetta this year are RHP, Teasdale, Schnarr, Condotta and your favorite Hillis. All are pretty unlikely but if I had to bet, it would probably be RHP as an energy 4th liner (although he doesn't have the size and physicality of Pezzetta).

I don't see Schnarr or Condotta ever touching the NHL (apart maybe as a injury vet callup when they are in their late 20s early 30s) and Teasdale/Hillis are not ready yet for a true cup of coffee (although Hillis already has 1 NHL game).

The only Pezzetta-like winger we have in Laval this year is Brennan Saulnier and he's definitely not a Pezzetta level guy (or on a NHL contract).

It would be interesting to make a poll to rank the same players based on who's more likely to graduate.

My guess would be :

1- Barron
2- Harris
3- Slavkovsky
4- Guhle
5- Primeau
6- Ylonen
7- RHP
8- Norlinder
9- Roy
10- Farrell
11- Xhekaj
12- Teasdale
13- Fairbrother
14- Heineman
15- Mysak
