Justin "red" Barron our ace defender.

Why him over Guhle?

Higher ceiling
More offensive tool
Nhl experience
Closer to his floor
Much better PP skillset
Much better skater
Just as beeg
Just as strong

Gotta go with our most NHL ready prospect, Kaiden Guhle.

Barron is right there with Guhle. They will make a great pairing soon.

Guhle. Floor : Top 4 dman. I doubt about his offensive flair. Maybe around 25/30 pts/ season, first pairing with an offensive minded dman. Or our 3rd best dman on a competitive team

I voted for Joshua Roy. I understand he's boom or bust, but I think his upside is the highest. Also, his attitude has been irreproachable ever since he turned his game around after being traded. His will to succeed gives me confidence the coin is gonna fall on the right side in his case.

Add Xhekaj, Dobes and Struble.

I got Guhle here, I feel his floor is pretty high (middle pairing guy) and his ceiling is that of a top-pairing guy.

I consider him medium-high upside/very low risk.

I respect your opinion that Barron is above Guhle in our prospect pool but saying that he is just as big and just as strong is a little bit desingenuous when he doesn't use those qualities to his advantage like Guhle does.

Yep, it's a matter of personal preference but Roy is #2 for me simply because his ceiling is higher than Guhle's.

Hes 6'2 ans 200 lbs just like Guhle lmao. Barron plays like Petry, Guhle plays like Chiarot. Is Chiarot "biggerr" than Petry?

Nah. I didnt say he was tougher or wtv. Size matters in puck protection, puck battles, man to man coverage, reach and physicality.

Guhle, not close.

How much is Farrell and Roy behind him? I'm assuming we vote for those two next? Not sure I'd give Hutson as high of a ranking this early. However, Hutson is intriguing.

Slaf
Guhle
Farell
Roy
Then who? Or do you have a different ranking?

Sean Farrell has shown at every level he's a better prospect than Roy. I'd be a little annoyed if Roy got voted ahead of Farrell.

I tend to agree so I would give the edge to Farrell. Roy will have his chance to move up but that is likely only to come once he turns pro.

Yeah, Hutson is insanely good but he's really a project right now. People are overrating him, and I say this while being in love with his skills.

He was an option in the first poll over 6 ft 3 super-skilled 1st rounder Logan Mailloux. Come on.

At the end of the day, it's a deep pool and these are healthy debates that will fluctuate as time moves forward.

If we go 1/3 on the hits/busts in our pool (top top 10-15 guys). We are going to come out very good.

I love that we got him and the spot we got him too. That's what draft power does. However, for now, we can like what we see but lets not rank them too high.

Guys who are closer to turning pro or have already turned pro and have good development resumes should get higher rankings.

Can you elaborate? Roy was one of the best CHL players this year at age 18.

And Roy is 6ft 185 lbs, Farrell 5ft9 175 lbs according to hockeydb. Not a huge difference but it does matter, unless those measurements are incorrect .

Bottom line is I feel Joshua Roy has a better chance of becoming a 1st line star than Farrell, so I rank him higher.

CHL production has to be taken with a grain of salt. You are making a good point cause you usually don't see that for age 18 players. But the added layer is he played with two 20 year olds. That doesn't mean he is not that good as a result either.

With Farrell, he's playing against men or players older than 20. CHL has 3 per team. Farrell also looked very good in international play where we have no sample with Roy on that yet.

Roy could pass him in the coming years but today, Farrell gets the edge. It's just the circumstances of where they play and the context within.

CHL has three 20 year olds per team with 16/17 year olds mixed in and most teams have a lot of 18/19 year olds as the core. NCAA has little 18/19 year olds and many 20-24 players. It's a factor

It's basically the reason why we took Slaf over Wright. Ability to see what they can do against older and more mature players.
