I wanted to make this thread for our Czech friends who unfortunately didn't have a thread at all for the 2021 tournament so they used the 2020 one. I don't know much about Czechs, so please help me out.

You nailed it.

Despite going undrafted Malik will get to play at 3 World Jrs.lol Bednar stayed in Canada and is in Quebec right now. Maybe he gets a sniff next year.

That D core is beautiful and the best one we've had in a decade or more. Add in Hamara, who is in Finland, as well.

The forward group is weak. Mysak, Gut and Novak are great and I'm a big fan but none of them will get more than 5 points in 6 games. No other major forwards on the horizon.

FTR.. if Finn's want to help Czech hockey, I'd prefer you get your coaches to help our coaches to teach our kids to skate better! Just the basic fundamentals because Finn's seem to have those down beautifully.

Here are the groups... we are not in the group of death BUT have a brutal crossover awaiting us.

For me it's all about the game against Germany. Hope that's New Year's Eve!

I made a forecast of the 2022 workforce in the 2020 topic. You'll see. Patrik Hamrla, for sure, in 2002 for example.

I wish I could help you with the coaching thing, but not much I can do about it.

Thank you... I'd never heard of him. He looks good. I said before this one that I wouldn't blame the goalies because they stood no chance. I know I'm critical of the Malik thing but I definitely don't blame him. I just think it's more political than meets the eye. Next year they'll say this is his third year and he's now 19 so he's the number 1 irregardless of what he does.

Mensik - Mysak - Gut
Rysavy - Novak - Konecny
Brabenec - Chlubna - Malat
Vrhel - Moravec - Ivan

Svozil - Jiricek
Krutil - Balaz
Blaha - Hamara

Bednar - Malik
The irony... our best D core in a decade and our worst forward core in at least 5 years.

Well that D will still be around in 2 years when the 04 forwards could be impact players. So it’s not all lost yet lol
If we're talking medals I honestly think our chances of a Junior medal are actually lower than a best on best or Skoda cup. Eg. if this World's happens (fingers crossed) I could see an all Euro Czech team being very competitive. If we have a best on best in 2022 then I could see our team being very competitive (especially if a goalie takes off and no D injury). I have no faith in a medal at the Juniors in the next 5 years. I'm fine with it as long as we produce 3 future NHLers per year. I'm not sure we did that this year. Eg. if we say Svozil, Jiricek and Mysak... then who are the 3 NHLers we produce next year on top of them?

I feel like he’ll make the world junior team at 16 in 2 years.
I honestly think 2 years from now(2023 tourney) could be our best team in a while. Time will tell.

Well you gotta go by birth year. 03’s(2021 draft) are weak but could still see Svozil, Rysavy, and some other surprise prospect from there. Big question mark though.
04’s(2022 draft), is early to say but jiricek, sapovaliv, Slavicek, Kulich, and more could be drafted.

Look at Jiricek go

He seems to be a lock for a first rounder in 2 years. I do think he outplayed Svozil. However, I also think Svozil would've excelled more if he had forwards who could score goals. Svozil needs some offensive talent around him to showcase his abilities IMO. Jiricek is bigger and more physical and that showed up for our 5 back team better.

Imagine what Svozil was thinking when he gets the puck and all his forwards are beside him?lol

How do you think it will compare to Mrazek and co. (1993's), Pastrnak and co. (1997's), and Necas and co. (1999's)?

I really hope he continues to develop well and gets drafted in the 1st round. We need guys like that. Last d-man we had drafted in the first round was Roman Hamrlik at no.1 right?

Svozil looked like an offensively-minded D-man to me (I only saw him play in this tourney). It's a pity he didn't get to attack more and support the offence, I'd love to see him making more forays into the offensive zone.

Even better was our leading scorer Martin Lang getting 2 goals in his premiere game 30 seconds apart. He might be one of those later bloomers that have been mentioned for us.

Any relation to Robert Lang? Just carrying forward the famous surname for the next generation :)
