Have a feeling we will look back a year from now and be like wow we really had Rutger at #4? Kind of like Kyle Connor was #5 in his draft year. Not comparing the players just the situations, don't expect a Hobey Baker type season from McGroarty. Yes, Connor was robbed.

I think Torgersson will surprise some folks. When we drafted him, I think the book on him was he was a great athlete with all the tools, but was very raw and may not have had the toolbox. I’ll admit I was only stat/highlight-watching him when he played in Sweden, but in his brief stint after he came over to the Moose last year I was able to get a look and he has a lot of potential. Not only does he have the tools, but he’s actually a really smart player. I think he can become what we wanted Vesalainen to become.

He should be a solid top sixer on the Moose this year, especially if they struggle offensively again then he will be a go to guy.

Am I confusing Rashevsky and Chibrikov?

It's a tight cluster here now IMO.

Remind me again please - are we talking ceiling, who's going to make an impact overall or are we talking who's going to make an impact (potentially lower overall) sooner?

Whatever you want. Some guys vote for NHL readiness, some for ceiling.

No set way we're supposed to vote.

Rashevsky was the double overager who had the best U22 KHL season. Chibrikov was the second rounder in the same year who had one of the best VHL seasons for a younger player.

Both outperformed their draft position for sure.

I’m pretty excited about Lambert. I’ve like his skill set for 3 years now. He’s the guy I go with as I think his potential is the greatest.
I do like Chisholm, Chaz, Gus and Rutger as prospects too.

My approach is "biggest impact overall". So upside, ceiling, floor/likelihood to make it at all are all part of the (very unprofessional and dubious) calculation.

I'd peg Lambert as having star potential but he also has a significant amount of risk associated with reaching it at this point. It wouldn't surprise me if he's number 1 on my list next summer if he gets back on track and has a terrific year.

If he stays off track and has a horrific year I would be more concerned. We'll hear, "muh Finnish primadonna" from the usual suspects but I have high hopes for him. Watching him in his 16 y/o season I thought he was gonna be a star.
