Thanks for doing this. I did it a few times and it takes some work. Nicely done!

The next six are tough for me as you could make a good case for a number of players.

I think I'm going with Heinola here as I think he has all the smarts and tools of a modern puck moving dmen. I think he still can become a Morrissey type dmen for us and he's NHL ready.

Add Gus.

Samberg has clearly past Heinola.

From what i see around here most people think Samberg should have a spot next year. Most people hope Heinola gets a chance. Thats the diference between the two, one is a NHL player the other we hope is a NHL player.

Personally I'll take Stanley over Heinola.

I mean Samberg is also two years older then Heinola and who's game fulfills a specific niche that the Jets feel they need as a shut down dmen. I like the kid as well but feel while he's closer to making an impact his ceiling is not all that high either.

McGroarty may not end up the best player out of the rest of the options, but I think he makes the biggest impact for the organization when we look back 10 years later

Toss up between McGroarty and Heinola for me. Going McGroarty. Add Gus, as well as Torgersson.

Is Kristian Reichel eligible? I think I lost a gasket last year or the year before because he didn't make the top 20, and when you look at last year's list, there's probably 6 or 7 of these guys that never make it farther in the NHL.

I'd like to add Torgersson

I think at age 24 he's aged out

#1 was clear-cut, but I think you could make the case for a few guys here. Should be interesting the rest of the way.

I still voted for Heinola. I still like his ceiling and potential the most in the system outside of Perfetti, but I feel like Samberg and McGroarty could be solid choices here, as well.

I voted for Ville The Kid. Hope the Jets don't leave him out in the cold this year. Let's see what he can do!

That niche is called NHL talent. I'm at a loss to see it in Heinola. Maybe you're right and he needs a couple more years and he will figure it out. He needs to be far stronger to start creating turnovers and maybe simplify his game to stop turning the puck over. Both things Samberg is far better at and some "skill" guys never progress past a minor league level. A lot of guys can be that minor league superstar with a specialized toolbox. You need more than that to be a NHL player.

Fair enough. If Heinola makes the team this year he will have done so at the same age Morrissey did so he's not off track yet by any means.

Exactly. The same Morrissey who a ton of people had written off and labelled as a "bust" after some underwhelming play with the Moose.

Guy has answered the bell and been everything we could have hoped for when the Jets picked him.

Sometimes it takes guys a little bit longer to find their way, especially at D.

Hoping the Jets find the right lane to put Ville in this season to continue to hone this development, instead of eating popcorn in the press-box -- which I think we would all agree is not as advantageous for him as opposed to getting live reps for either the Jets/Moose.

Yeah, I have Heinola, McGroarty, Samberg and Lucius all in a similar tier with Chisholm, Rashevsky and Chibrikov right behind them. Will be interested to see how it plays out but you can’t really go wrong with any of ‘em, IMO.

Or he could sit in the AHL for another full year, then get spot duty next year and still be on pace with Stanley and Samberg.

Every year some people just forget prospects are different ages.

Can already tell Lambert is gonna be the biggest riser next year =P

Totally forgot about him, haha. I’d put him in that second tier
