This is usually my favorite part of this board every year so I decided to start this years, hope that isn't stepping on any toes, feel like it is important to get the marquee guys ranked before the WJC gets underway in a couple weeks. Below is last years list. I know the pro team is full of distractions and no fa signings, but ranking the system hopefully can bring some positive energy.

Thanks @WiscoJet - you can have at 'er! :) I saw some talk about this poll and waiting until after the WJC but either way is fine. Maybe we can run an adjustment poll after the WJC if Lambert goes out and sets the world afire...

Just wondering what is the cutoff for not being a prospect anymore? Perfetti played 18 games for the Jets last season -- how many games does he need to play this season to not be a prospect anymore? Or is it strictly an age thing?

Considering he's the only one on the list to play in the NHL a decent number of games and do well, I guess he's the obvious #1 pick.

The under 24 sounds plausible, but I’m pretty sure we did not go with the 65 number.
There was some debate about it last year. We let Kovacevic remain a prospect for the purposes of the poll even though he was 24 at the time (he's now 25, btw and definitely aged out). Stanley deemed to be graduated, even though he was 23 and had played fewer than 65 NHL games, because he was considered a lock to make the Jets.

Anyway, the < Age 24, < 65 GP rule should not be broken lightly. It allows an apples-to-apples comparison for these polls going back to 2011. And it should, theoretically, limit debate and arguments about whether to include borderline players. Under 24? Fewer than 65 games played in the NHL? You're in. Otherwise, you're out.

Speaking of which, both Kovacevic and Berdin have aged out and should not be included in this year's poll.

Sorry Y’all….changed my vote. It was 61-0-0-0-0-0-0. Couldn’t inflate the kids ego that much!. Went with the maybe if 100% breaks perfectly right, a kid who may have a slightly potential higher celing? Dunno…..this is HF. The boards will break if a 100% agreement on an item is ever reached….particularly prospects.

Seeing the lone Lambert vote I was worried that avgard had returned...
